The 8 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Kaffra Keeper

   Dialogue[-22,33] · Kaffra Keeper

   In the Tower of Orders, go up the stairs at the main entrance and enter the room on the right, on the first floor. Ask Kaffra Keeper to become a Knight of Despair: you must retrieve statuettes from an old abandoned mine.

   

2. 2Craft the Intre Breads

   Crafting[20,-29]

   You need 1 Intre Bread per character accompanying you into the mini-dungeon. It is crafted with the Farmer profession, level 140 or higher: 6 Malt, 12 Hemp, 1 Sesame Oil, 2 Edelweiss, 1 Pandapiler, 1 Baker's Yeast, 1 Blood-Soaked Meat and 8 Potatoes. The Pandapiler is bought from Hairod'og, at [20,-29].

3. 3Open the abandoned mine

   [-1,-4]

   Meet at [-1,-4] with your companions, each with their own Intre Bread. Enter the mine next to the Enutrof temple and put the character doing the quest on the slab to open the gate.

   Only the character who has the quest can open the gate: they open the way for companions who don't have it.

4. 4Enter the mini-dungeon

   Dungeon[-1,-4] · Ron Stoppable

   Talk to Ron Stoppable and give him an Intre Bread to access the mini-dungeon.

5. 5Win the first two fights

   Start the first fight, which can be done with several players. Its monsters cast Hammering (6 extra damage for 5 turns and hits for 150 to 250), Jet de Pierre (110, removes 2 dodgeable MP, 7 on a critical hit), Carapace (reduces damage by 64), Debilitating Crush (about 140, removes 2 AP), Backfire (reflects a spell of level 5 or higher), Larvage (70, removes 1 AP) and Whack (about 150). The second fight, also possible with several players, pits you against monsters that cast Rage (18 extra damage for 3 turns), Con (about 250) and Pickaxe Blow (300).

6. 6Defeat the boss room

   Combat

   Pull the lever to access the boss room, behind the cart. The fight can again be done with several players. You face Con (340), Pickaxe Blow (290), Rage (17 extra damage for 3 turns) and Mass Clumsiness, which removes 2 dodgeable AP in an area for 3 turns. Victory gives you the chest key.

7. 7Open the chest

   Open the chest with the key: it doesn't contain the statuettes, but Ingrown Toenail Powder.

8. 8Go back to see Kaffra Keeper

   Dialogue[-22,33] · Kaffra Keeper

   Break the bad news to Kaffra Keeper. Furious that his colleague gave him false information, he still names you Knight of Despair. The quest ends.

You become a Knight of Despair: the quest rewards an ornament and a title.
