What to prepare

Keep 2 Somnitia Sleep-Killer for the fisherman: if you didn't set them aside during the previous quest, harvest them before you start.

The 9 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Ougaa's Excited Disciple

   Dialogue[-14,34] · Ougaa's Excited Disciple

   The mushroom you met at the end of the previous quest is responsible for the contamination. Only a fiery tongue sword could defeat it.

   

2. 2Question Ougaa's Exalted Disciple

   Dialogue[-10,34] · Ougaa's Exalted Disciple

   In the cave, Ougaa's Exalted Disciple tells you that the sword is submerged in water.

   

3. 3Ask Ron Gray for a fishing rod

   Dialogue[-12,34] · Ron Gray

   The fisherman helps you in exchange for 2 Somnitia Sleep-Killer. If you don't have them, harvest them now.

4. 4Fish for the Fiery Tongue Sword

   Collect[-11,34]

   On the map to the right, in the cave, there are two fishing spots different from the normal fishing ones. Fish until you get the Inert Fiery Tongue Sword: you may reel in a lot of useless items first. The spots respawn in about a minute.

5. 5Show the sword to Ougaa's Exalted Disciple

   Items[-10,34] · Ougaa's Exalted Disciple

   On the map to the right, in the cave, show him the sword. Its flame needs to be rekindled.

   

6. 6Question the Pagneuls

   Dialogue[-21,25] · Teebaten

   At the Pagneul tribe's camp, talk to Teebaten, who explains how to rekindle the sword: first in the volcano's furnace, then by reactivating its magic.

   

7. 7Defeat the Volcano Furnace

   Combat[-24,21] · Volcano Furnace

   Talk to the Volcano Furnace to start the fight, to be done solo. It is invulnerable: end each of your turns in contact with it to make it lose 600 HP.

   Each turn ended in contact with it also costs you about 810 HP in Fire, depending on your character. If you're both low on life on the last turn, it's the furnace that dies: it takes the damage first.

8. 8Reactivate the sword's magic

   [-14,29]

   Click the mushroom-infested cart to dip the sword into a dunepipe mushroom and reactivate its magic.

9. 9Bring the sword back to Ougaa's Exalted Disciple

   Items[-10,34] · Ougaa's Exalted Disciple

   Go back to the cave and show the Fiery Tongue Sword to Ougaa's Exalted Disciple. The quest ends.
