The 9 quest steps

1. 1Listen to Zap Gobdon's plan

   Dialogue[5,2] · Zap Gobdon

Tell Zap Gobdon that you are willing to help him. He wants to capture Gein, wanted for attempted murder of the Explorancient. Gein is said to be mute, and his voice locked in the chest of one of the three Srambad thieves he suspects: he wants to use it as bait. So that the thieves don't warn one another, the three houses will be searched at the same time: Zap the Catacombs one, Belle the Shrouded Canals alley one, and you the Shadowy Heights one.

2. 2Collect Belle Adrenne's hook

   Items[5,2] · Belle Adrenne

To pick the lock, you need a Lockpick: your accomplice Belle Adrenne gives you a Rusty Hook to make one.

   • Rusty Hookreceived

3. 3Have a Lockpick made

Leave the dimension and have the Lockpick made by a handyman. More Rusty Hooks drop from the monsters of Srambad: each extra Lockpick lets you pick the lock of a Srambad house to obtain resources from the area.

   • 1 × Rusty Hookto hand over
   • 2 × Mushroomto hand over
   • 3 × Strubian Sickrat Leatherto give
   • 1 × Vampire Canineto hand over
   • 3 × Sick Arachnee Hairsto hand over
   • Lockpickreceived

4. 4Burgle the Shadowy Heights house

   [6,-2] · Cut-throat

Back in Srambad, show the Cut-throat Vil Smisse's glove to get past the gate. Click on the door of the house in the Plotters' Dead End to pick the lock, then on the chest: it's empty, and guards take you to prison.

Picking the lock of the door uses up your Lockpick.

   • 1 × Lockpickto hand over

5. 5Get out of Srambad's Prison

   Movement[7,2]

Two solutions: pick up 20 Sweet Potatoes and give them to your jailer, or lure her close to the bars to attack her. The fight is solo.

6. 6Announce your failure to Zap Gobdon

   Dialogue[5,2] · Zap Gobdon

In the tavern, Zap didn't find anything either, but Belle has arranged to meet you both in the Plotters' Dead End.

7. 7Unmask the fake Belle Adrenne

   [6,-2] · Belle Adrenne

Show Vil Smisse's glove to the Cut-throat again. In the dead end, Frank Lee Smisse claims that you asked her to come. Talk to Belle Adrenne, who didn't find anything either: she addresses you formally. Point it out to her: it's the Queen of Thieves, who had taken her appearance.

8. 8Question the Queen of Thieves

   Dialogue[6,-2] · Queen of Thieves

Ask her why she attacked the Explorancient. She claims not to command Gein and is instead delighted by the portals, which let her steal from other continents. No need to look for Gein: he will come to you on his own.

9. 9Report to the Explorancient

   [-22,-24] · Explorancient

Tell about your encounter with the Queen of Thieves. The Explorancient doesn't believe in her innocence. You can then reveal or not the existence of the Queen of Thieves' mother: both choices end the quest.
