The 11 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Khar'Kass

   Dialogue[39,-56] · Khar'Kass

   This demon boat, too damaged to sail the Akeranzu, refuses your help: you know nothing about boats. Explain that you will first ask an expert for advice.

   

2. 2Ask Captain Ghezen for advice

   Dialogue · Captain Ghezen

   Captain Ghezen always travels with rescue boards and reinforced nails, in case his craft gets damaged. He can be found at one of these two places.

3. 3Craft the Reinforced Nails

   Crafting

   Have 1 Reinforced Nails crafted by a Smith of level 200 minimum, cooperative crafting possible: 2 Strange Ore, 2 Silver, 2 Sepiolite and 2 Bendable Crystal. Also gather 3 Rescue Board.

4. 4Try and repair Khar'Kass

   [39,-56] · Khar'Kass

   Show him the boards and nails. The patch-up fails and even enlarges the breach. Only a graft can save him, but no demon boat wants to be a donor: he tells you about Fr'Agran'z, a missing demon boat whose wreck could be used.

5. 5Investigate Fr'Agran'z

   Li'bray'td tells you that Fr'Agran'z, a demon with a strong character, was last seen after going down the river. Sorr'Serr'is saw her hit reefs off Grobe Island, then blindfolded people heading toward the wreck.

6. 6Meet Danaba Retzu

   Dialogue[36,-40] · Danaba Retzu

   The blindfolded lead to the head of the Faye Pworme Boot. The boat sank northwest of the island, and a recalcitrant soul could not be freed. She entrusts you with a blade that absorbs souls.

   To talk to Danaba Retzu, you may need to have finished Where's My Samurai?.

7. 7Go to the shipwreck island

   Movement[34,-40] · Nolifis Ferryman

   The Nolifis Ferryman takes you to the wreck's islet. Once there, equip Danaba's Blade in place of your weapon.

8. 8Face Fr'Agran'z

   Combat[38,-52] · Fr'Agran'z

   The demon's soul refuses to join Externam and to give up pieces of her wreck: she hates Khar'Kass, whose smell supposedly made her capsize. Your smell reminds her of her mother's: she wants you as a host. A fight starts, solo.

   Keep Danaba's Blade equipped throughout the fight, otherwise the quest does not update.

9. 9Collect the grafts

   Items[38,-52]

   After the victory, click the grafts at the bottom of the map to collect Demon Boat Grafts.

10. 10Give the blade back to Danaba Retzu

    [36,-40] · Danaba Retzu

    Give her the full blade: it leads the soul straight to Externam. The wreck is no longer a threat to the Twelvians.

11. 11Repair Khar'Kass

    Dialogue[39,-56] · Khar'Kass

    Tell him that Fr'Agran'z has indeed capsized and hand over the grafts. Follow his instructions scrupulously, then place the grafts when he starts to bleed. He promises to return the favor if you ever need to travel by sea. The quest ends.
