Archaeological Treasure Hunt

What to prepare

Nothing to gather: a full treasure hunt and a tactical fight at the end, doable in a group but easier solo. Daily Quest, available again from 7:00 the next day.

The 6 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Pinh

   Dialogue[-25,-36] · Pinh

   In the Treasure Chest, Pinh offers you a treasure hunt. Then choose the archaeological hunt.

   Only one hunt at a time. The other choice starts Daily Treasure Hunt, doable once a day: if the quest does not start, check that you do not already have the daily hunt in progress.

   

2. 2Start the hunt

   [-25,-36]

   Click on the Enutrof Box, next to Pinh, to start the hunt.

3. 3Follow the clues

   Movement

   Go to the indicated starting position, then look for each clue in the given direction: it is between 1 and 10 maps away in that direction. Place a marker on the clue you find, then move on to the next one. After the 3 or 4 steps, a final fight starts so you can recover the treasure.

   Each misplaced marker costs an attempt: after 4 failures, the hunt fails, and the quest with it. You can restart it right away with Pinh.

4. 4Defeat the Treasure

   Combat

   The Treasure, 7 HP, summons 4 Vigichests around you; all of them are invulnerable. One of the Vigichests looks different, on four legs: every hit on it removes 1 HP from the Treasure. Hit it 7 times, following it, because it swaps places with another Vigichest at every hit.

   Hitting the wrong chest deals about 500 Neutral damage; the second time too, and the Treasure regains 1 HP. The third time, you are killed on the spot and lose a hunt attempt.

5. 5Open the Archaeologist Chest

   Once the fight is won, open the Archaeologist Chest: it gives 5 Archaeological Treasure, guaranteed, a quest resource. The quest ends.

6. 6Exchange the treasures with Ener Brelloq

   Items[-24,-36] · Ener Brelloq

   In the room on the right of the Treasure Chest, 5 Archaeological Treasures can be exchanged for 1 Totankama Tablet Piece. You need 5 for Totankama's Treasure, that is 25 treasures. If you no longer need pieces, you can also buy a Volatile Destinos Incantation, a consumable that turns you into a Tofu.

Related quests

The quest is repeatable every day, from 7:00, even when you no longer need tablet pieces. Archaeological Treasures are used for Totankama's Treasure. They also drop automatically from dungeon bosses of level 120 to 130, in dungeons only, which saves you five days of hunts.

Where does the Archaeological Treasure Hunt quest start?

With Pinh, in the Treasure Chest at [-25,-36]. You must be level 120 and have completed How to Get Plucked.

Why won't the quest start?

You probably already have a hunt in progress, for example the Daily Treasure Hunt. Only one hunt is possible at a time.

How do you beat the Treasure?

By hitting the four-legged Vigichest 7 times. It changes places at every hit; on the third hit on a wrong chest, you are killed.

How many Archaeological Treasures do you need?

25 for the 5 Totankama tablet pieces. Each chest gives 5, and Ener Brelloq exchanges 5 treasures for 1 piece.

Can you get Archaeological Treasures any other way?

Yes, from dungeon bosses of level 120 to 130, automatically, but only in dungeons.

When can the quest be done again?

The next day, from 7:00. If the hunt fails, you can restart it right away with Pinh.
