Identity Crisis

What to prepare

Nothing mandatory. To make the fight safe, equip a Rhon-type weapon that lets you heal Gein, and bring MP removal or the Gravity state.

The 7 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Gein the Silent

   Dialogue[-4,0] · Gein the Silent

In the Sram temple, Gein no longer has any doubt: Echo wants to take the power of all the Gods. He asks you to reveal everything to the Voyagers, and entrusts you with a vial that will let him join you in the Voyagers' Tower despite the security barriers.

2. 2Gather the Voyagers

   Items[-22,-24] · Colonel O'Whel

In the Voyagers' Tower, tell Colonel O'Whel that you have important revelations to make, and ask him to gather all the important Voyagers for a meeting of the utmost importance.

3. 3Confront the Explorancienne

   [-22,-24] · Explorancient

Head to the Briefing Room and tell the Explorancienne about your revelations. Then dispel Gein's vial to make him appear, and reassure the assembly before the meeting turns into a massacre. Gein gives you a message to read, then announces the truth to the Voyagers.

4. 4Show the evidence to the Voyagers

   Items[-22,-24]

Gein asks you to show your evidence to each Voyager. Talk to all of them, in whatever order you like: Colonel O'Whel, Zap Gobdon, Belle Adrenne, Doctor B'boing, Gizmond Quelyn and Gladis. O'Whel questions the order itself, Belle thanks you, B'boing feels duped, Quelyn only thinks about technomagic, and Gladis predicts heavy consequences.

5. 5Unmask Echo

   [-22,-24] · Explorancient

Talk to the Explorancienne, furious with you: she takes her true form. Echo freezes all the Voyagers in time: attack her with Gein.

6. 6Help Gein defeat Echo

   Combat[-22,-24]

The fight is solo, with Gein the Silent. You are invulnerable; only Gein can hit Echo, and only in melee. He must hit her every turn to stack his boost. The technique is detailed in the Fights section. You get a Tuft of Black Hair at the end.

7. 7Talk to Septangel

   Dialogue[-22,-24] · Septangel

The leader of the Watchers is none other than Olivie Fringe. The order of the Voyagers has a role to play: Echo must stay at its head and the box must be built, then Xelor will take it. On Xelor's orders, Septangel erases these events from all memories except yours, and gives you the Watchers Dofus. The quest ends.

Where does the quest Identity Crisis begin?

With Gein the Silent, in the Sram temple at [-4,0]. You must have completed An Appointment with Death.

How do I win the fight against Echo?

By letting Gein hit Echo in melee every turn. His boost stacks up to more than 15,000 per hit. Every other turn, remove an MP from Echo or put her in Gravity to stop her from fleeing.

Do you need a Rhon weapon to beat Echo?

No, but it is preferable. You are invulnerable while Gein takes Echo's damage: a Rhon weapon lets you heal him and makes the fight safe.

Do you have to talk to the Voyagers in a specific order?

No. Talk to O'Whel, Zap Gobdon, Belle Adrenne, Doctor B'boing, Gizmond Quelyn and Gladis in whatever order you like, then to the Explorancienne.

What does Identity Crisis give?

2,625,000 XP, 43,980 kamas and the Watchers Dofus, given by Septangel at the end of the quest.
