The 20 quest steps

1. 1Speak to Ratathrosk

   Dialogue[-5,-9] · Ratathrosk

   The quest starts in the cavern, with Ratathrosk. He needs you to find a dear friend of his: Aure, a phoenix.

   

2. 2Question Master Yakasi

   Dialogue[2,-3] · Master Yakasi

   On Incarnam, at the library, ask Master Yakasi about phoenixes. Phoenixes are cousins of owls, tasked with guiding the souls of the departed. He met Aure in his youth without knowing where she is, and recommends a book that talks about her.

3. 3Read the first volume

   [2,-3]

   Click the book on the table in front of Yakasi. It tells of the meeting between Ratathrosk and Aure, who gave the dragon its name. After Aure's death, the dragon created an egg from which she came back to life, and the two resumed their journey through the Krosmoz.

4. 4Question George Segrob

   Dialogue[4,-6] · George Segrob

   At Amakna Castle, go to the room on the left. Phoenixes are the only birds able to go to the heart of the stars. George Segrob recommends another book from this library and tells you about the legend of an Enutrof and a phoenix.

   

5. 5Read the second volume

   [4,-6]

   Check the book lying on a pile of books, on the middle table. There you learn that Queen Thanatena is Ratathrosk's mother, and that the dragon, having become the executioner of the Gods, separated from Aure, who is devoted to saving souls.

6. 6Find the legend at the Enutrof Temple

   Movement[-1,-4]

   In the Enutrof Temple, Dopeul room, click the scroll rolls. Then open The Witch and the Firebird from your inventory: a phoenix gives a star stone to an Enutrof witch in love with God Enutrof.

7. 7Talk to Meriana

   Dialogue[-6,-3] · Meriana

   Tell him about the legend. The sorceress is his mother, Barda Yaga, who might be around the Cania cirque.

8. 8Help Barda Yaga against the strich

   Combat[-9,-45] · Barda Yaga

   Barda Yaga has some trouble with a strich: talk to her and a fight starts, doable in a group. After the victory, talk to her again: Aure is hiding from the Enutoughs, who want solar stones. Find these star hunters to find the phoenix.

9. 9Spy on the Star Hunters

   Talk to the Star Hunter to listen to what he says to his companion: a certain Avarish is in Externam to help them.

   

10. 10Enter Externam

    Movement[-71,-78] · Guardian of the Day Without End

    Talk to the Guardian of the Day Without End, then equip your Death Mask in place of your headgear and click the portal.

11. 11Trick Avarish

    In Externam, cross the first two maps and go right. Talk to Avarish.

    2. “Claim that you would be ready to do anything to return to the world of the living”

    The other dialogue choice starts a fight.

12. 12Talk to Queen Thanatena

    Dialogue[15,14] · Queen Thanatena

    The phoenix is not here. The queen agrees to help you reunite her son and the phoenix: she turns you into a ghost.

    If you start a fight, you lose the ghost appearance and must return to Externam to renew it.

13. 13Pass yourself off as a ghost

    Movement[-4,28] · Star Hunter

    Talk to the Star Hunter again. Thinking he's fooling you, he asks you to go howl near the phoenix statue in Astrub to attract Aure.

14. 14Defeat the star hunters

    Combat[2,-13] · Firebird

    First go through the phoenix map in [2,-14], then go to [2,-13] warn the Firebird about the imminent attack of the Enutroughs. The fight is solo, alongside the Firebird and Meowzatot, the pet of Meriana's mother.

    Let your two allies charge in and stay back a bit. If the Levitrof colors you with its spell, your allies hit it without caring about you: you risk dying.

15. 15Talk to Aure

    Dialogue[2,-13] · Aure

    Aure has taken on a human appearance. The Enutoughs are chasing her because only she can retrieve star stones. She doubts that Ratathrosk has changed, but agrees to see him again once the star hunters are out of the way.

16. 16Talk to Barda Yaga

    Dialogue[2,-13] · Barda Yaga

    Thank her for her pet's help. She advises you to have the brotherhood of star hunters dissolved by God Enutrof.

    To continue, you must have completed the achievement One Country For Old Men.

17. 17Convince God Enutrof

    Dialogue[-5,-5] · God Enutrof

    In Enurado, request an audience with Enutrof's Herald, then talk to God Enutrof. He finds it normal for the Enutoughs to seek wealth and doesn't like Ratathrosk. Suggest that the Enutoughs want to match his fortune: he ends up agreeing to dissolve the brotherhood.

18. 18Guide Aure to Ratathrosk

    [2,-13] · Aure

    Tell Aure the good news and ask her to follow you. Go to [-5,-9] and enter the cave.

19. 19Witness the reunion

    [-5,-9] · Ratathrosk

    Talk to Ratathrosk, then to Aure, then to Ratathrosk again: he waited a long time for Aure, she suffered seeing him join the Inglorium, and he says he is ready to change. The dragon suddenly notices a presence.

    

20. 20Spare the Leader of the Star Hunters

    [-5,-9] · Leader of the Star Hunters

    The Leader of the Star Hunters threatens you, then chokes himself: it is Ratathrosk. Talk to Ratathrosk to remind him of his commitment to Aure, then to Ratathrosk, who leaves the Enutrough alone. The quest ends.
