Milivar Treasure Hunt

What to prepare

Quest repeatable once a year, on December 24: it is that day's Almanax bonus, which honors Méryde Milivar. Plan for a full treasure hunt and a final fight.

1. 1Talk to Pinh

   The quest starts at the Treasure Chest, with Pinh, only on December 24, Méryde Milivar's day. He offers you a treasure hunt.

   If another treasure hunt is in progress, daily or archaeological, finish it first: otherwise, you cannot start this one.

   

2. 2Start the treasure hunt

   Start Méryde Milivar's treasure hunt using the chest next to Pinh.

3. 3Follow the clues

   Movement

   Go to the indicated starting position, then look for the clue in the given direction: it is between 1 and 10 maps away in that direction. Place a marker on the clue you find, then look for the next one, over 3 or 4 steps to validate.

   A misplaced marker costs you an attempt. After 4 failures, the hunt is failed, and the quest with it: you can, however, restart it right away with Pinh, at [-25,-36].

4. 4Defeat the Treasure

   Combat

   At the end of the hunt, start the final fight to recover the treasure. It can be done in a group, but it is better to do it alone. The Treasure and its 4 Vigichests are invulnerable: you must hit the Vigichest with the different appearance.

5. 5Open the Milivar Chest

   Once the hunt is complete, you get 1 Milivar Chest: open it to finish the quest. It contains 1 Kamoken and 2 Milivar's Merit Point, plus one random extra item: Ephemeral Reading – Milivar's Thought, Magus Ax's Travel Journal or Milivar Medallion.

6. 6Exchange 4 merit points for the certificate

   Items[-4,-24] · Xanamla

   Optional: with 4 Milivar's Merit Points, you can buy the Knight of the Order of Merit Certificate from Xanamla, for 100 Almoken. The chest gives 2 merit points, the day's offering 1, and the Chestnut Supplies quest 1 more, only on December 24.

Related quests

The quest does not unlock any other quest. It can be restarted the following year, always on December 24, to get more Milivar treasures. On the same day, Chestnut Supplies earns one more Milivar's Merit Point.

When and where do you start the Milivar Treasure Hunt?

Only on December 24, with Pinh at the Treasure Chest at [-25,-36]. It is today's Almanax bonus, from level 20.

Another treasure hunt is probably in progress, daily or archaeological. Finish it first.

How do you beat the Treasure?

Hit the Vigichest that is on 4 legs as many times as the Treasure has HP. It changes places at every hit; hitting the wrong chest costs about 500 HP, and the third mistake knocks you out.

What if the hunt fails?

Restart it with Pinh, at [-25,-36]. After 4 missed markers, the hunt and the quest fail, but the quest can be restarted right away.

What is in the Milivar Chest?

1 Kamoken and 2 Milivar's Merit Point, plus a random Milivar's Thought, Magus Ax's Travel Journal or Milivar Medallion.
