2Start the treasure hunt
Start Méryde Scheik's treasure hunt using the chest next to Pinh.

3Follow the clues
Movement
Go to the indicated starting position, then look for the clue in the given direction: it is between 1 and 10 maps away in that direction. Place a marker on the clue you find, then look for the next one, over 3 or 4 steps to validate.
A misplaced marker costs you an attempt. After 4 failures, the hunt is failed, and the quest with it: you can, however, restart it right away with Pinh, at .

4Defeat the Treasure

At the end of the hunt, start the final fight to recover the treasure. It can be done in a group, but it is better to do it alone. The Treasure and its 4 Vigichests are invulnerable: you must hit the Vigichest with the different appearance.

5Open the Scheik Chest
Once the hunt is complete, you get 1 Scheik Chest: open it to finish the quest. It contains 1 Kamoken and 1 Lonely Sock, plus one random extra item: Ephemeral Reading – Scheik's Thought or Magus Ax's Travel Journal.

The fights
Levels 20 to 200
Tactical Combat at the end of the hunt. The Treasure has 7 HP and summons 4 Vigichests around your character; all of them are invulnerable. Each hit on the right Vigichest makes it lose 1 HP: you must therefore hit it 7 times.
Level 1
One of the 4 Vigichests looks different: it is on 4 legs, and it is the one you must hit. At every hit, it swaps places with another Vigichest. Hitting a wrong chest deals about 500 Neutral damage; the second time, 500 damage again and the Treasure heals 1 HP; the third time, you are knocked out and lose 1 hunt attempt.
The rewards
The Scheik Chest gives 1 Kamoken and 1 Lonely Sock (30 Prospecting for 60 minutes), plus a random Ephemeral Reading – Scheik's Thought (a quote to read, single use) or a Magus Ax's Travel Journal (a follower character for 60 minutes).

Hit the Vigichest that is on 4 legs 7 times. It changes places at every hit; hitting the wrong chest costs about 500 HP, and the third mistake knocks you out.
What if the hunt fails?
Restart it with Pinh, at . After 4 missed markers, the hunt and the quest fail, but the quest can be restarted right away.
What is in the Scheik Chest?
1 Kamoken and 1 Lonely Sock, plus a random Scheik's Thought or Magus Ax's Travel Journal.
