What to prepare

You need the Breeder profession at level 20 or higher and two breeding achievements: “Catch It If You Can” and “Pregnant Or Just Fat?”. Also bring three generation 1 dragoturkeys, to buy or capture.

The 14 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Captain Starky

   Dialogue[-32,-57] · Captain Starky

   Graffiti has been drawn on the Iop statue at the Militia. Starky suspects a breeder who doesn't like the Dark Vlad and entrusts you with the investigation.

   

2. 2Defeat the two srams

   Combat[-32,-56]

   The culprits are two srams. Talk to Riko Noklast or Blasfema to attack them. After the victory, you get a Compromising Document.

   Friends can help you, but only the character who starts the fight sees their quest advance.

3. 3Bring the document back to Starky

   Items[-32,-57] · Captain Starky

   The two srams were hired by Oggius, a big breeder. Starky asks you to convince him to stop his shady activities.

4. 4Meet Oggius

   Dialogue[-30,-58] · Oggius

   In the breeders' district, Oggius explains that he lost his reputation as the King's dragoturkey breeder when Dark Vlad killed the former King. He will forget the past if you convince his only heir to take up the family breeding business.

   

5. 5Talk to Edemaga

   Dialogue[-30,-58] · Edemaga

   On the same map, Oggius's daughter finds dragoturkeys ugly and her father a bad teacher. Offer to teach her breeding yourself.

6. 6Meet the lesson requirements

   The first three lessons only require having met a condition. To tame a mount: the achievement “Catch It If You Can”. To craft breeder tools: the Breeder profession at level 20 or higher. To help a mount give birth: the achievement “Pregnant Or Just Fat?”.

7. 7Get the three dragoturkeys

   Items

   You need a Ginger, an Almond and a Golden Dragoturkey, of generation 1: buy them at the auction house, or capture them. The Universal Capturing Net captures any mount from Breeder level 1; the Strengthened Dragoturkey Net captures in an area, but requires Breeder level 150. At the Wild Dragoturkey Territory, fight one dragoturkey of each color.

   Equip the net in your combat consumables: it gives the Mount Taming spell. With a single-target net, do three fights and target one dragoturkey each time; with an area net, target all three at once. At the end of the fight, the dragoturkeys marked with the capture state arrive in your inventory.

8. 8Give the breeding lessons

   Items[-30,-58] · Edemaga

   Talk to Edemaga again and give her the lessons: all four dialogues must be completed, each with its requirement met. Give her the three dragoturkeys, then congratulate her: she will take over from her father.

   If you have identical but more valuable dragoturkeys (fertile, higher level), put them in the bank so she doesn't take the wrong ones.

9. 9Break the news to Oggius

   Dialogue[-30,-58] · Oggius

   The compass still shows nothing, but Oggius points out a remnant of the old pens destroyed by Dark Vlad.

10. 10Examine the breeders' arch

    [-30,-60]

    Click the keystone of the arch to make the compass react. It points to a position south of Astrub, at [2,-14], in the graveyard area.

    

11. 11Talk to Nistracolamus

    Dialogue[2,-14] · Nistracolamus

    At the Astrub Phoenix, Nistracolamus thinks Dark Vlad might be in the Fields of Rest.

    

12. 12Find Dark Vlad

    Movement[-4,-9] · Dark Vlad

    Talk to Dark Vlad and tell him you've been looking for him for a while. Displeased, he attacks you: you end up at the graveyard, as a ghost.

13. 13Use Meriana's compass

    Resurrect at the phoenix, then click Meriana's compass. It didn't survive Dark Vlad's attack and melted on the spot.

14. 14Go back to see Meriana

    Dialogue[-6,-3] · Meriana

    In her swamp, explain the situation to Meriana. Dark Vlad is much more powerful than usual: she changes tactics to defeat him, and the quest ends.
