What to prepare

Nothing to gather, but bring reinforcements: the first fight, to defend Agent Jayne Pato, is very tough.

The 8 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Sergeant Resaca

   Dialogue[2,2] · Sergeant Resaca

   Ask the Sergeant for a new mission. His men, tasked with mapping the Catacumbras, haven't reported in for some time: he sends you to look for them.

2. 2Find Agent Jayne Pato again

   Dialogue[4,9] · Agent Jean Patho

   Talk to Agent Jayne Pato: all her teammates were killed by the necrotics. They are coming back for more: defend the agent. The fight can be done with a group.

   1. “Call for reinforcements”

   For the quest to update for everyone, each character must have talked to Jayne and chosen “Call for reinforcements” before the fight.

3. 3Defend Agent Jayne Pato

   Combat[4,9]

   The group that attacks you includes a Trechepeira Gwey and other monsters from the area. The fight is very tough, and the map, which places you in melee range of the monsters, doesn't help: kill the trechepeiras first.

4. 4Warn Sergeant Resaca

   Dialogue[4,9] · Sergeant Resaca's Krosmoglob

   Talk to Jayne Pato again and offer to take her back to the outpost. Then talk to Sergeant Resaca, through his Krosmoglob that appeared on the map, to give him the bad news.

5. 5Escort Jayne through the Catacumbras

   Movement

   Advance through the Catacumbras by talking to Jayne at each step.

   • [5,9] talk to Jayne to see if she is still following you
   • [5,8] go up and talk to Jayne again, who needs to rest
   • [5,7] talk to Jayne: she shows you Doctor Jako's Krosmoglob, surrounded by a swarm of necrotics

6. 6Defeat the swarm of Scoliopodes

   Combat[5,7]

   Try to talk to the Krosmoglob, then attack the swarm of Scoliopodes. The fight can be done with a group, as long as the others have asked for reinforcements, and it is much easier than the first one: use area attacks.

7. 7Give the Krosmoglob to Jayne

   Items[5,7] · Doctor Jako's Krosmoglob

   Talk to Jayne again and give her Doctor Jako's Krosmoglob. Jayne suddenly falls ill. Talk to the Doctor, who orders you to confine the agent in the Catacumbras.

8. 8Report to Sergeant Resaca

   [5,7] · Sergeant Resaca's Krosmoglob

   Tell Jayne about the situation: she asks you to activate the Sergeant's Krosmoglob so she can make her report. Talk to Sergeant Resaca through his Krosmoglob: the quest ends.

With Sergeant Resaca, in the Shrouded Canals at [2,2]. You must be at least level 160 and have completed Fanfail.

Where do you find Agent Jayne Pato?

In the Catacumbras, in [4,9]. She is the only survivor of her team.

Can the fights be done in a group?

Yes, if everyone chose “Call for reinforcements” when talking to Jayne before the first fight. Otherwise, the quest does not update for the others.

How do you win the fight to defend Jayne?
