Wanted: King Kongoku

Level 200 wanted notice: pick up the notice at the Amakna Castle militia at [5,-6], find King Kongoku in the Splash Zone of Sufokia Bay and bring him back to prison. All the steps, the legendary hunt, his spells and tips against the Cocolune.

The 5 quest steps

  1. 1Take the wanted notice

    Dialogue

Enter the Amakna Castle militia and go right. The first notice room doesn't have the right one: take the second door on the right. In the second room, click on the highlighted sign, King Kongoku's.

    Dialogue

    1. “Head out questing for King Kongoku”
  2. 2Find King Kongoku

    Movement

King Kongoku always appears in the Splash Zone area, in Sufokia Bay. He is not always there: once defeated, he disappears for several hours before coming back.

If a group defeats him without anyone getting him as a follower character (quest not started or already completed), he reappears immediately in the area.

  3. 3Or track him down through the legendary hunt

    Dialogue

To be sure to find him, assemble Kongoku's Map at the Treasure Chest Desk, from its 8 fragments. Then start the legendary hunt with the Drafting Table: it works like a treasure hunt, but ends with the fight against King Kongoku, alone and therefore without penalties.

    Dialogue

    1. “Kongoku's Treasure”
    2. “Begin”

All characters in the fight who started the quest obtain King Kongoku as a follower, but only the one who started the hunt receives the hunt chest and 1 King Kongoku's Hide, a unique resource used in a recipe.

  4. 4Defeat King Kongoku

    Combat

King Kongoku has no Invulnerable state, but summons a Cocolune on his very first turn: 15,000 HP, 0 MP, unmovable. As long as she is there, your characters are in the Gravity state, she pulls them at the start of her turn and makes the ones she sees Pacifist. If you started the quest, you obtain King Kongoku as a follower character after the victory.

Don't waste time on the Cocolune: she comes back one turn after dying. Stay out of her line of sight at the start of her turn, after her pull, and kill King Kongoku first.

King Kongoku

Level 200

In the Splash Zone: 30,000 HP, 12 AP and 6 MP, no Invulnerable state. Resistances: 15% Neutral, 20% Earth, 15% Fire, -10% Water, -5% Air, hence the value of hitting with Water or Air. Like all wanted criminals, he has the Ad Hoc Allies state: -2,000 Vitality and -50 Power per monster accompanying him, with no time limit; no penalty if he is alone. He mostly hits in melee and in a line of 10 cells, in Neutral, teleports next to you and pushes up to 20 cells, with heavy push damage near an obstacle. Apply the Unshakable, Rooted or Unmovable states (the Feca's gravitational glyph is the best ally), and surround the Cocolune with summons, preferably static ones, to cut her line of sight: onto you, and onto King Kongoku, whom she would strengthen.

  • Ad Hoc Allies

State shared by the wanted criminals: -2,000 Vitality and -50 Power, with no time limit, per monster present with him.

  • Summoning of Cocolune

On his first turn, up to 3 range without line of sight: summons a Cocolune with 15,000 HP and 0 MP. She immediately casts New Moon.

  • New Moon (Cocolune)

Makes the Cocolune Unmovable, puts your characters in the Gravity state, and puts King Kongoku in the Super Saru state (he changes appearance) and Moon Beam state, with no time limit. If the Cocolune dies, these effects disappear, but King Kongoku can resummon her on the very next turn.

  • Lunar Attraction (Cocolune)

At the start of each of her turns, infinite range without line of sight: pulls all her enemies 10 cells toward her.

  • Moon Beam (Cocolune)

Infinite range, 9 times per turn and 1 times per target. Each enemy in line of sight changes color (white and red) and becomes Pacifist for 1 turn. If she sees King Kongoku, she removes his Moon Beam state so that he casts Moon Power on his next turn.

  • Masterful Uppercut

In melee, 2 times per turn and 1 times per target. Deals 300 Neutral damage and pushes back 10 cells, 20 cells in Super Saru state, with heavy push damage.

  • Saruharuha

In melee, cooldown of 1 turn. Deals 400 Neutral damage in a line of 10 cells; in Super Saru state, it also increases the spell's base damage by 40 in 1 turn.

  • Instantaneous Deplacement

Infinite range without line of sight, once per turn: teleports next to an enemy.

  • Moon Power

On himself, only in Super Saru state and without the Moon Beam state: gains 500 Power and 5,000 Vitality, with no time limit, and regains the Moon Beam state.

The rewards

Experience and 2,040 Wantoken, according to the game data. The legendary hunt also gives the player who started it a hunt chest and 1 King Kongoku's Hide.
