The 3 rooms of Lord Crow's Library

A route of its own: the Library has sixteen freely accessible rooms, where three unique monsters hide, Foxo the Crowfox, Horace the Tamed Crobak and Kapotie the Drinker. Each victory over one of them gives you its feather; with all three, go back to Virgil in the first room of the Library, who sends you to the Capsaaloock, then Lord Crow. Defeat Lord Crow

Don't hit the Carapace of Wings

On turn 3, then every 4 turns, Lord Crow folds into his wings for 2 turns and reflects 400 damage on every hit received. Dispel him or leave him alone, and deal with the monsters in the meantime. Poisons are not reflected.

The five-step strategy against Lord Crow

First turn: isolate the Drinker. Kapotie the Drinker plays right after the boss and gives Refreshment to his neighbors. Push him back, remove his MP or block him with a summon so that he touches no ally. Ideal: kill him before he plays, which is hard at level 110.

Horace, then Foxo. If the Drinker has protected himself, dispel him or hit the monster that didn't receive the resistances. Horace is the best focus: he hits in a line up to 12 cells. Foxo follows, and with 11 MP, he'll be in melee with you by turn 2. Ignore the summoned Crobak.

Turn 3: the carapace. Lord Crow casts Carapace of Wings: you don't have to worry about him until turn 5, unless you dispel him. Take advantage of it to finish Horace and Rono, without ever touching him.

Turns 4 to 6: the Drinker. Refreshment wears off on turn 4, or on turn 5 if he scored a critical: focus the Drinker then. Finish him before turn 6, when he can recast his resistances, especially without dispelling.

Lord Crow alone. Keep him at a distance with MP reduction and pushes, and hit from afar: in melee, he hurts a lot. Under his carapace, dispel him to finish him faster, otherwise wait 2 turns for the effect to wear off.

The Carapace of Wings

For 2 turns, he changes appearance and loses 12 AP and 5 MP: with 6 base MP, he only moves one cell and skips his turns. In exchange, he reflects 400 damage on every hit, and at the start of each of his turns, he steals life from all your characters and summons.

All its effects can be dispelled. Without dispelling, use these two turns to push monsters back, heal yourself or apply poisons, which are not reflected.

The summoned Crobak

Lord Crow can only maintain one Crobak, but resummons it on the very next turn: killing it is pointless. He only hits in a line or in melee, and dispels one character each turn: your boosts risk being nothing but wasted AP. A team that boosts a lot overwhelms him, since he can't remove everything.

With more than four characters

The number of monsters doesn't change, but all the monsters in the Lord Crow fight benefit from the scaling, not just the boss: with eight characters, HP and damage double. In the Library, the scaling of unique monsters is random: you can run into a reinforced monster even with four.

The monsters of Lord Crow's Library

Seven monsters from the Crobak family: the three unique ones of level 110, who also accompany Lord Crow, the Capsaaloock, and the area's monsters, of level 102, with the same spells. Against the boss, isolate Kapotie on the first turn, then follow this order. Resistances in red are their weaknesses.

In which order to kill the monsters

  1. Horace the Tamed Crobak — he hits in a line up to 12 cells and deals heavy push damage to you.
  2. Foxo the Crowfox — his 11 MP bring him into melee quickly, and he removes 100% resistance in one element from you.
  3. Kapotie the Drinker — kill him before he plays if you can, otherwise as soon as Refreshment wears off.

Preparing your run through Lord Crow's Library

A level 110 dungeon that rewards control: MP removal, pushback and dispelling. You come for Flying Feathers, The Book of Taurs for the Crimson Dofus and the boss's soul for the Ochre Dofus, with a Soul Stone for Big Souls (captures up to level 150).

How to enter Lord Crow's Library

The entrance is at The Crow's Domain, in the Cania Plains, in ; the nearest zaap is Rocky Plains . Talk to Virgil: the Library is freely accessible, and he lets you in and out whenever you want. The key is only needed when you come back with the three feathers, to face the Capsaaloock and Lord Crow: a Lord Crow's Library Key (consumed) or the key ring. The dungeon also offers the automatic group search.

Crafting the Lord Crow's Library Key

It is crafted at a handyman's. Monster resources drop at 34% in the dungeon: Drinker Feather from Drinkers, Tamed Crobak Feather from Horace and the Trained Crobak, Crobak Foot from the Crobak Chief, Crowfox Hair from Rono, Dried Meat from all of them. Grey Sea Bream (fishing), Edelweiss and Rye (harvesting) complete the recipe.

Which team to bring against Lord Crow

Dispelling. Refreshment, Carapace of Wings and Croaking's penalty can all be dispelled. A character that dispels changes the fight: it shortens the wait for the Drinker and for the boss, and gives you your resistances back.

At least one Earth character. Lord Crow has 55% Air and Water resistance, 45% in Fire, but only 25% in Earth and Neutral. This is mostly essential for the First achievement.

Control rather than boosts. MP reduction, pushes and blocking summons keep the boss and Foxo away from you. Boosts, on the other hand, are removed by the summoned Crobak and the Crobak Chief: don't waste your AP on boosting.

The classes that do well here. The Sadida and the Pandawa dispel and block monsters, with the Bloqueuse or the Pandawasta. Any character that removes MP or pushes keeps Lord Crow at a distance. Compositions that rely on their boosts suffer: several crows remove them.

The five achievements of Lord Crow's Library

Each achievement gives 5,343,000 XP and 2 Lord Crow Down, the Duo doubles the XP. Special and First go well together. For the Crobak monsters achievement, also complete a challenge against the unique monsters and against the Capsaaloock.

Lord Crow's Library Defeat Lord Crow in this boss's dungeon. 10 5 343 000

Tight

Each ally must end their turn in contact with another ally. Since the challenge overhaul, a summon no longer counts: you have to be right next to a character or a companion. Beware of Horace, who pushes back 12 cells and splits up the group, and of Beddiebyze, who removes MP in an area and blocks your movements.

First

Lord Crow must be finished off first. Come with Earth characters and a dispeller to lift the carapace on turn 3. The Drinker must never give Refreshment to the boss: move him away from the boss and remove his MP. Keep Lord Crow close enough to hit but never in melee, block Foxo with a summon or let him hit you, and avoid Horace's line. Attack from turn 1 without boosting; without dispelling, apply poisons during the carapace and resume on turn 5. On turn 6, the Drinker can recast Refreshment. The achievement is easier with eight: the number of monsters doesn't change.

Special: Lord Crow Perched on a Tree One Day

Each ally must end their turn 5 cells or less from an enemy. The best method: put the whole team next to Foxo, who never flees, kill Lord Crow and the others, then finish Foxo last. Kill Horace early, since he sends you to the other end of the map. Don't count on the summoned Crobak, which flees. Combine it with First: keeping the boss for last would force you to end your turns near him.

Duo

Two characters maximum, fewer than 20 turns. The basic strategy, ideally with an Earth character: Horace, then Rono, then the Drinker, by dispelling his resistances or waiting for them to drop. Keep the boss at a distance, ignore his Crobak, get out of Horace's lines and never hit the carapace. Everything must be finished by the end of turn 19.

Lord Crow's Library as a guild Expedition

The dungeon exists as a guild Expedition. Same monsters, but a completely different fight:

  • Lord Crow gives 50% resistances to all his allies, every turn and without stacking, summoned Crobaks included, but not to himself: focus him first, the bonus disappears when he dies;
  • each enemy spell places a permanent rune under the targeted cell: it deals 400 Air damage to a character and heals a monster for 25% of its HP;
  • a monster only triggers its own runes at the start of its turn, Lord Crow all of them: never end a turn on a rune, and get your target off the runes;
  • Earth remains his weak point, at 45%, and up to two Crobaks can be summoned at the same time;
  • erosion helps a lot against rune healing, and dispelling against Refreshment, Croaking and Carapace of Wings.
