What to prepare

Nothing to gather: Fiziks provides the shields. Just remember to equip the right shield before each fight.

The 6 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Professor Groschinder

   Dialogue[-1,-6] · Professor Groschinder

   Concerned about the defense of the travelers' outpost, the professor wants to test how well his shields resist the Ecaflees' acid. He sends you to get two prototypes from his assistant.

2. 2Collect the shields from Fiziks

   Items[-1,-6] · Fiziks

   Fiziks is in the same place as the professor. He gives you the foam shield and the wool shield.

3. 3Test the first two shields

   Combat

   Talk to a Sour Ecaflee on each of the two maps, equipping a different shield for each fight. The fights are solo.

   • [-4,-8] equip one of the shields, then talk to the Sour Ecaflee
   • [0,-4] equip the second shield, then fight the second Sour Ecaflee

   Equip the shield before starting the fight, otherwise the test doesn't count.

   • Sour Ecafleefight · level 110 · 2,500 HP · 10 AP · 4 MP

4. 4Report back to the professor

   [-1,-6] · Professor Groschinder

   Both shields broke. Break the bad news to the professor: he wants to try a new material, etork.

5. 5Test the etork shield

   Combat[2,-8]

   Pick up the etork shield from Fiziks, at [-1,-6]. Equip it, then fight another Sour Ecaflee at [2,-8]. This time, the shield holds.

   • Sour Ecafleefight · level 110 · 2,500 HP · 10 AP · 4 MP

6. 6Announce the good news to the professor

   Dialogue[-1,-6] · Professor Groschinder

   Show the shield to Professor Groschinder, who tells you about his new projects. The quest ends.
