What to prepare

Plan for the Damadrya's Bamboo Grove dungeon and three fights doable in a group. Also start The Walking Willow before entering the dungeon: it requires it too.

The 16 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Daimya Hikomi

   Dialogue[22,-29] · Daimya Hikomi

   To reach the Ink Dofus, you set out in search of the Goddess's elemental claws. The Daimya advises you to start with the Wood spirit, and to sort out its problems with the Pandawa along the way: lumberjacks are constantly attacked in the Plantala forest, and a forester sent there never came back.

   

2. 2Talk to Kykori

   Dialogue[24,-29] · Kykori

   The bamboo grove foreman claims that the lumberjacks have always respected nature, with regular offerings to the spirits and without cutting excessive quantities. She doesn't understand why the spirits are driving them away.

   

3. 3Read the register at the library

   [21,-27]

   At the library, go upstairs and click on the books at the foot of the coffee table, on the right. According to the register, the lumberjacks harvest about a third of the available bamboo each year: a rather reasonable operation.

   

4. 4Talk to the scribe Chochi

   Dialogue[21,-27] · Chochi

   The scribe signals to you: leave the library and talk to Chochi. The register you consulted is not the original, but a copy made by a young scribe of the plantation, since killed by creatures from Plantala. Yet only originals, with their seal, are allowed in the library.

5. 5Go back to the lumberjacks' workshop

   Movement[24,-29] · Takeono

   At the workshop, Takeono tells you that Kykori is away to sort out the problem with the creatures and spirits of the forest.

   

6. 6Drive back the Bambootos

   Combat[26,-30]

   Go to the entrance of the Damadrya's Bamboo Grove dungeon. As soon as you arrive on the map, you are attacked: a wave fight starts, doable in a group. Wave 1: a Torrential Bambooto, a Wonder-Worker Bambooto and a Booming Bambooto. Wave 2, in 3 turns: a Wonder-Worker Bambooto and a Booming Bambooto. Wave 3, in 5 turns: a Torrential Bambooto.

7. 7Talk to the overseer Vusi

   Dialogue[26,-30] · Vusi

   Since the forest spirit's anger, the lumberjacks avoid the bamboo grove and the harvest has collapsed. Kykori entered the plantation a few hours ago: follow her into the dungeon.

8. 8Find the register page

   Movement[26,-30]

   In the Damadrya's Bamboo Grove dungeon, go to room 4 and click on the skeleton under the tent: next to this recent corpse, a piece of paper. Read the Page from the Bamboo Grove Harvesting Register: the original speaks of harvesting half of the resources each year.

   Read the document before continuing the dungeon: otherwise, the quest does not update and you will have to redo the dungeon.

9. 9Face Damadrya

   Combat[26,-30] · Damadrya

   Continue to the boss room and face the guardian of the bamboo grove. After the fight, talk to her. Damadrya protects the bamboo from lumberjacks who cut it down en masse before it matures, at least 3 years. A single person is organizing this overexploitation for profit, and she is the one who killed the scribe in room 4. You realize that Damadrya is the missing forester. Kykori has headed back to the village with the register.

10. 10Defeat Kykori and her accomplice

    Accuse Kykori and show her the register page: she denies everything. Her contact, the Amaknian Dealer, tries to buy you off for his trade in concentrated bamboo juice meant for wuhisky. Refuse: a fight starts, doable in a group. You then recover the Bamboo Grove Harvesting Register.

11. 11Show the register to the Daimya

    Items[22,-29] · Daimya Hikomi

    The Daimya feels guilty for having entrusted the plantation to Kykori. To make amends with the Wood spirit, she wants to offer Damadrya a bamboo shoot blessed by the Goddess, from the Grandapan's sacred garden. Talk to the Servant of Daimya, in the same room, to get it.

12. 12Offer the shoot to Damadrya

    Go back to the front of the dungeon and talk to Vusi, then to Damadrya. She thanks you and tells you how to meet the Wood spirit: go to the Goroku tree, which leads to it.

13. 13Help the fruit of the Goroku tree

    Talk to the Goroku Tree Fruit, which fell from laughing too much. To get back up faster, you have to cut it in two, at the risk of drawing the jealousy of the rotten fruit: a fight starts, doable in a group. You get Spirit Seeds and a Goroku Fruit Quarter.

14. 14Plant the seeds and enter the tree

    Collect[26,-32]

    Use the Spirit Seeds on this map to plant them at the foot of the tree. Then use the Goroku Fruit Quarter: it teleports you to the spirits' clearing.

15. 15Talk to the Wood Spirit

    Dialogue · Wood Spirit

    In the clearing, go right. Listen to nature with the Wood Spirit by choosing the right answers, in order. Then explain to it that the dragons of Pandala are guiding you to its claw. It agrees to give it to you in exchange for something it will reveal to you in due course: you obtain the Wood Claw.
