The 13 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Chemdilth Chab

   Dialogue[-25,39] · Chemdilth Chab

   Go down into the Brakmar sewers via the access at [-25,39], then go down one more map to the Pesthouse. Chemdilth Chab took the oath of Hippo the Rat: make sick and preserve illness. But one of her patients remains in perfect health: she fears an epidemic of good health and first wants to test his fighting abilities.

2. 2Assess the Vivacious Flatt Rat

   Combat[-25,39] · Vivacious Flatt Rat

   Talk to the Vivacious Flatt Rat, who doesn't look as fit as Chemdilth Chab says. The fight is solo.

3. 3Report to Chemdilth Chab

   [-25,39] · Chemdilth Chab

   Explain what you noticed during the fight. She fears the worst and thinks you need to ask an expert, Pratel Zonn, for help, even though they don't like each other: he accuses her of using his techniques, she claims she only does it to preserve their species.

4. 4Challenge Pratel Zonn

   Combat[-27,35] · Pratel Zonn

   Talk to Pratel Zonn about Chemdilth Chab's patient, whom he calls a charlatan. He advises you to throw the rat into the lava so it doesn't infect the colony, then, after much protesting, agrees to help you if you beat him. The fight is solo.

5. 5Follow Pratel Zonn's advice

   Dialogue[-27,35] · Pratel Zonn

   After the fight, talk to Pratel Zonn again. To make the rat sick, you need to take it out of the sewers and have it breathe Brakmar's putrid air, especially near the Militia or the Burnt Cat Inn.

6. 6Take the Vivacious Flatt Rat along

   [-25,39] · Vivacious Flatt Rat

   Go back to the Pesthouse and ask the Vivacious Flatt Rat to follow you through the streets of Brakmar. He becomes your follower character.

7. 7Walk past the Militia

   [-25,33] · Vivacious Flatt Rat

   Go to the front of the Brakmar Militia and talk to the Vivacious Flatt Rat: a little more tired, but still generally in good shape.

   

8. 8Stop by the Burnt Cat Inn

   [-28,38] · Vivacious Flatt Rat

   Enter the Burnt Cat Inn and talk to the rat again: he feels a slight tickling in his throat, without thinking he is cured.

   

9. 9Bring the rat back to Chemdilth Chab

   Items[-25,39] · Chemdilth Chab

   Go back down into the sewers via [-25,39], then one map further, to the Pesthouse. The rat finally shows a few symptoms, but could recover at any moment. Chemdilth Chab writes a letter: she promises to stop using Pratel Zonn's knowledge if he helps her settle this case.

10. 10Take the letter to Pratel Zonn

    Strangely, Pratel Zonn praises Chemdilth Chab: he watched her grow up, she was his protégée. He advises you to give the rat an Elthy's Fricassee: the recipe keeps Twelvians in good shape, but makes rats sick.

    Crafting

    Craft 1 Elthy's Fricassee with a Hunter of level 55 or higher: 5 Onion, 5 Babbage Leaf, 10 Blueberry Jelly, 3 Tender Meat and 10 Luigie Mushroom.

12. 12Give the fricassee to the rat

    Combat[-25,39] · Vivacious Flatt Rat

    Go back into the sewers through the manhole at [-25,39], then to the Pesthouse. Give the fricassee to the Vivacious Flatt Rat: he doesn't feel well and feels like throwing up. You must fight him again to check on his condition, solo.

13. 13Announce the news to Chemdilth Chab

    The rat is finally sick. Chemdilth Chab thanks Pratel Zonn, but regrets no longer being able to ask him for help: to reassure her, sum up for her her colleague's compliments. The quest ends.
