What to prepare

Have 50,000 kamas ready, or a group fight against the tavern guards. You also need to know the spell Soul Capture, learned in the dungeon The Kwakwa's Nest at [-4,-7].

1. 1Talk to the Flummoxed Pandawa

   Dialogue[23,-24] · Flummoxed Pandawa

   Newly settled in the region, the Flummoxed Pandawa had a family amulet stolen by a Tanuki. No Tanuki he questioned would answer him, and these masters of transformation are almost impossible to recognize.

   

2. 2Question Tanuya Shisa

   Dialogue[24,-26] · Tanuya Shisa

   Tanuya Shisa agrees to answer: the thief is in the habit of turning into a work of art to hide, and the real artworks are protected by their creator's magic. A legend says a Pandawa once captured a transformed Tanuki in a soul stone.

   

3. 3See the Flummoxed Pandawa again

   Dialogue[23,-24] · Flummoxed Pandawa

   Ask him if he knows anything about capturing the soul of a transformed Tanuki. He points you to the Shaman of Pandala.

   

4. 4Talk to the Shaman's Assistant

   Dialogue[20,-27] · Shaman's Assistant

   You need a special soul stone, sturdy and enchanted, otherwise the target may disappear. The assistant only gives you one in exchange for a favor: deliver a letter to the Akwadala innkeeper, to decline her invitation.

   If you started The Dofus Receptacle without completing it, at a certain step, the Shaman's Assistant may be found at [19,-32].

5. 5Hand the letter to Sakwaba

   Items[20,-20] · Sakwaba

   In the tavern at [20,-20], Sakwaba refuses the letter when she realizes the man she loves won't come. Click the glass of fermented bamboo milk on the table to get a Full Glass, then talk to her again to give it to her and finally hand over the letter. She then demands the assistant's tab.

6. 6Pay the tab or fight the guards

   Items[20,-20] · Sakwaba

   Two choices: pay 50,000 kamas to settle the debt, or refuse and fight the tavern guards, a fight doable with several players.

7. 7Collect the Reinforced Soul Stone

   Items[20,-27] · Shaman's Assistant

   Go back to the Shaman's Assistant. To use the stone, you need to know the spell Soul Capture and equip it in place of your weapon.

   If you don't have the spell Soul Capture, learn it by doing the dungeon The Kwakwa's Nest, at [-4,-7].

8. 8Touch the drafts

   [26,-27]

   In [26,-27], click the stone blocks at the base of the big statue.

   

9. 9See Tanuya Shisa again

   Dialogue[24,-26] · Tanuya Shisa

   Tell him the sculptures don't react. They were only drafts, with no protection: you need to look for “piles of stacked pebbles”, as those who are not Tanuki say.

   

10. 10Touch the Tanuki artworks

    Combat

    Go to these places in order. At the first two, either a fight starts against 1 Animated Sculpture, doable with several players, or you are teleported to another map.

11. 11Capture the soul of the Tanuki thief

    Combat[25,-27] · Tanuki Thief

    Equip the Reinforced Soul Stone in place of your weapon, then talk to the Tanuki Thief to attack him. The fight is solo. You don't need to cast the spell Soul Capture, but the stone must stay equipped throughout the fight. You then get the Tanuki Thief's Soul.

12. 12Free the thief's soul

    [23,-24] · Tanuki Thief

    Show the soul to the Flummoxed Pandawa: he wants a word with the thief. Double-click the Tanuki Thief's Soul in your quest inventory, then talk to the Tanuki Thief. He doesn't remember stealing from you; show him the Pandawa and ask for the amulet: he gives you Aunty Winette's Amulet and leaves.
