What to prepare

Nothing to gather: you have to defeat 8 monsters of a specific type on each of eight maps of the kingdoms. Start So Many Words, So Little Time and Spectacular Ink at the same time, which also require resources from those monsters.

The 5 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Daoh

   Dialogue[15,-31] · Daoh

   Daoh is in one of the two sanctuaries, at [15,-31] or at [20,-38]. The spirit-words upset the natural order of the Kingdoms of Ink and Paper: some of them need to be erased.

2. 2Access the Kingdoms of Ink and Paper

   Dialogue · Daoh

   If you have never been there, choose “Find out more about this place” and answer Daoh's questions. First question, the nature of the fire burning within you: “White Fire” (Ecaflip, Eniripsa, Iop, Cra, Feca, Sacrier, Eliotrope), “Black Fire” (Sadida, Osamodas, Enutrof, Sram, Xelor, Pandawa, Rogue, Masqueraider, Foggernaut, Ouginak) or “White Fire and Black Fire” (Huppermage, Forgelance). Second question, the creator of the Kingdom of Paper: “The Dragon of Pandala”.

   With the Iroru Symbol, leave the sanctuary to arrive in a kingdom. To return to Pandala, talk to Daoh again in a sanctuary, then leave.

3. 3Erase the paper spirit-words

   Combat

   In the Kingdom of Ink, defeat 8 monsters of the indicated type on each map. Other monsters do not count.

   • [0,-5] around the spirit altar of the Kingdom of Ink: 8 Imetsu
   • [1,-3] around the go players' board: 8 Imiyama
   • [-1,-3] around the Wukin Temple: 8 Imorok
   • [-2,-3] around the Black Fire well: 8 Imushin

   If you have not defeated enough monsters of the right type, a message says that too many spirit-words are still disturbing the balance of the map.

4. 4Erase the ink spirit-words

   Combat

   In the Kingdom of Paper, same principle: 8 monsters of the right type on each of these maps.

   • [0,2] around the Wukang Temple: 8 Rokoram
   • [1,2] around the White Fire well: 8 Shinlam
   • [-1,4] around the spirit altar of the Kingdom of Paper: 8 Tsunam

5. 5Go back to see Daoh

   Dialogue · Daoh

   Go back to one of the two sanctuaries of the kingdoms, at [0,2] or at [-1,-3], and talk to Daoh. The quest ends.

   1. “Announce that you have reduced the number of spirit-words in various places of the celestial kingdoms”

Where does the quest The Dragon Effect begin?

With Daoh, in the Wukang sanctuary at [15,-31] or Wukin at [20,-38]. You must have completed Pandala Awakens.

How do I access the Kingdoms of Ink and Paper?

By answering Daoh's two questions: the nature of your fire according to your class, then “The Dragon of Pandala”. The Iroru Symbol then opens the kingdoms for you at the sanctuary exit.

Which monsters should I defeat, and where?

8 monsters of a specific type on eight maps: Imetsu at [0,-5], Imiyama at [1,-3], Imorok at [-1,-3], Imushin at [-2,-3], Mabram at [-2,0], Rokoram at [0,2], Shinlam at [1,2], Tsunam at [-1,4].

Why does the quest not update?

There are not enough monsters of the right type on this map. Only the listed monsters count, and you need 8 of them on the right map.
