The Grey Country

What to prepare

Nothing to gather: keep the Death Mask obtained during the previous quest on you, to equip before going through the portal.

The 9 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Ilyzaelle

   Dialogue[-73,-76] · Ilyzaelle

The quest starts following Passing Test, in Ilyzaelle's Lookout. Ilyzaelle allows you to step through the portal to Externam.

2. 2Step through the portal to Externam

Equip the Death Mask, then click the portal next to Ilyzaelle. You arrive at the Last Sigh Bridge.

3. 3Get tasted by Morty Sharn

   Movement · Morty Sharn

Morty Sharn notices that you are alive and wants to taste you. Let him, then ask him to stop.

   Dialogue

   1. “Hold out your arm, hoping it won't be too painful”
   2. “Suffer in silence”
   3. “Politely ask Morty Sharn to stop his examination”

4. 4Find out about the queen of Externam

   Movement · Lost Mane

On the same map, ask the Lost Mane about the queen of Externam: he arrived recently and knows no more than you. This character seems to change, perhaps depending on your class or the time.

5. 5Enter the Citadel

   Movement · Impatient Mane

On the next map, go through the guarded door and talk to the Impatient Mane. On the same map, the Nervous Mane explains that the scale weighs the souls of the manes: if it stays balanced, the mane can hope to live again.

   Dialogue

   1. “Ask where to find an usher, because you must see one urgently”
   2. “Ask about the scale”

6. 6Talk to the Citadel Usher

   Dialogue · Citadel Bailiff

The usher has just appeared, but refuses to answer you until it is your turn.

   Dialogue

   1. “Grumble and resign yourself”

7. 7Defeat the Curious Mane

   Combat · Curious Mane

In the meantime, talk to the Curious Mane: he passes on a message from Hyrkul, give up your quest and do not resurrect Dardondakal. When you refuse, he attacks you: a fight starts, solo.

Hold out until turn 6: a Creaper then arrives on your side and kills the Curious Mane in one hit, if you haven't beaten him before.

   • Curious Manefight · level 200 · 14,000 HP · 12 AP · 6 MP

8. 8Convince the usher

   Dialogue · Citadel Bailiff

Talk to the usher again, who asks you not to cause a mess. Announce that Dardondakal sends you: he couldn't care less. Reply to him, and an audience room frees up as if by magic.

   Dialogue

   1. “Shrug, so the queen will have to wait before learning what Dardondakal wants”

9. 9Talk to Archon Kebesto

   Dialogue · Archon Kebesto

Take the stairs at the back of the room and talk to Archonte Kebesto: to meet the queen, you must offer a relic to the Necropolis. The quest ends.
