Quest
Wanted: Carter the Pillager
Level 180 Wanted Notices, to be taken at the Brakmar militia at [-25,33] or the Bonta militia at [-32,-57]: find Carter the Pillager in the Fungus Cavern, defeat him and deliver him. All the steps, his glyphs, his spells and combat tips.
What to prepare
Nothing to gather: you must be Brakmarian or Bontarian, order 4 or higher, to take the notice. Prepare a team that hits with Earth or Water and resists Air.
The 4 quest steps
-
1Take the wanted notice
Dialogue
Go to the wanted room of the militia of your alignment, then click on the highlighted sign. Some notices are in the first room, the others in the neighboring room.
- Brakmarian: Brakmar militia, go up the stairs to the first floor and go straight left
- Bontarian: Bonta militia, go to the top-left room, then to the top room next to the stairs
Dialogue
- “Head out questing for Carter the Pillager”
-
2Locate Carter the Pillager
Movement
Carter the Pillager always appears in the Fungus Cavern, in the Sidimote Moors. He is not always there: once defeated, he disappears for several hours before coming back.
If a group defeats him without anyone getting him as a follower character, because no one has the quest in progress or everyone has already completed it, Carter the Pillager reappears immediately in the area.
-
3Defeat Carter the Pillager
Combat
Carter the Pillager is invulnerable at range, with no way to remove this state: you must enter his glyphs to hit him in melee, or take advantage of his brown glyph to hit him through the monsters. He has 0 MP and cannot be moved. His full strategy is in the Fights section.
Two green glyphs overlap around him: entering applies the penalties twice, i.e. -600 Power, -60% Resistance and -12 range for 1 turn, except on the outer edge of the first glyph.

4Deliver Carter the Pillager to the militia
Items
After the victory, you get Carter the Pillager as a follower character, provided you started the quest. Go back to the wanted room of your militia and talk to Lobo Tommy if you are Brakmarian, or to Fairy Valentine if you are Bontarian. The quest ends: Carter the Pillager joins the other captured wanted targets behind bars, in the rooms after the notices.
- Brakmarian: Lobo Tommy, on the first floor to the left
- Bontarian: Fairy Valentine, in the top room next to the stairs

The fights
Level 180
25,000 HP, 10 AP and 0 MP. Resistances (%): 50% Neutral, 10% Earth, 30% Fire, 10% Water, 100% Air. Like all wanted targets, he has the Ad Hoc Allies state: -1,500 Vitality (infinite) per monster present with him, with no penalty if he is alone. He mostly hits through his glyphs: very strong in Air with the green glyph, in Water with the blue glyph stacked on the green, and in Fire in a blunderbuss area from his melee range. Tips: avoid Air and Neutral, favor Earth and Water; make him place his brown glyph under a monster to hit him from a distance; kill each Carter's Mushroom to boost yourself; if he is alone, bring enough to deal damage, tank Air and heal your melee characters.
-
Oh Pie, Yum!
From the start and for the whole fight: Invulnerable at Range state, impossible to remove. Each turn, he summons a Carter's Mushroom (1 HP) 4 range from him, unless the previous one is still there. When eliminated, the mushroom gives 300 Power for 2 turns to your characters in its melee range.
-
Fog You Can Cut With A Knife
Green glyph of radius 1 on turn 1, growing by 1 each turn; a second identical glyph arrives on turn 2, one radius behind. Each removes 300 Power, 30% Resistance and 6 range for 1 turn (stackable), and deals about 500 Air damage if you start your turn inside it, about 1,000 with both.
-
What's Yours Is Mine
Brown glyph of radius 2, up to 15 range, 3-turn cooldown, cast from turn 1. It lasts 2 turns and grows to radius 3 on the second. Starting your turn inside it steals 2 AP for 2 turns from your allies within a radius of 2. Monsters inside the glyph when it appears have their damage intercepted by Carter: hitting them hits him. Pushing a monster into an already placed glyph does not work.
-
In A Daze
Blue glyph of radius 3 for 2 turns, up to 15 range, from turn 2, 3-turn cooldown. Ending your turn inside it makes you skip the next turn. Whack dealing 550 Water damage if you are also in the green glyph.
-
Misty Breath
From his melee range, once per turn. Whack dealing 500 Fire damage in a blunderbuss area of height 5 and, for 2 turns, gives a 25% chance of being healed by the hit received, otherwise taking double. Non-stackable and dispellable.
The rewards
According to the game data, the quest gives experience and 18 Aliton.
