Wanted: Mastigator
Level 130 wanted notice: take the notice at the Amakna Castle militia at [5,-6], find Mastigator in Otomai's Putrid Peat Bog and deliver him to prison. All the steps, the legendary hunt, his spells and tips for lifting his invulnerability.
What to prepare
Nothing to gather for the classic method. Plan for a healer character, preferably an Eniripsa. To be sure to find him, the legendary hunt requires the 5 fragments of his map.

2Find Mastigator
Movement
Mastigator always appears in the Putrid Peat Bog zone, on Otomai Island. He is not always there: once defeated, he disappears for several hours before coming back.
If a group defeats him without anyone getting him as a follower character (quest not started or already completed), he reappears immediately in the area.

3Or track him down through the legendary hunt
Dialogue
To find him for sure, assemble Mastigator's Map with the Desk of the Treasure Chest, from its 5 fragments. Then start the legendary hunt with the Drafting Table. It works like a treasure hunt, but ends with the fight against Mastigator, alone and therefore without penalty.

All characters in the fight who started the quest get Mastigator as a follower, but only the one who started the hunt receives the hunt chest and 1 Mastigator's Egg, a unique resource used in a recipe.

Mastigator has no Invulnerable state at the start, but he makes himself Invulnerable 2 turns out of 3: vulnerable on turns 1, 4, 7, 10… A character under Grill who starts their turn 2 cells or less from him lifts this invulnerability. If you started the quest, you get him as a follower character after the victory.

5Deliver Mastigator to Maeve Lightdance

Enter the militia at , go right and go down the stairs to the prison. Talk to Maeve Lightdance: you lose your follower, the quest ends and Mastigator joins the other wanted targets behind bars.

The fights
Level 130
In the Putrid Peat Bog: 14,000 HP, 11 AP and 4 MP. Resistances: 20% Neutral, 10% Earth, 30% Fire, -15% Water and 25% Air. He hits fairly hard with Earth in melee, with Air in a half-circle at range, and with Neutral and Air in an area at short range. He pushes back, teleports, and removes MP and Lock.

Ad Hoc Allies
State shared by all wanted targets: 900 less Vitality and 50 less Power, with no duration limit, for each monster with him. Alone, he has no penalty.

Straight Through
Throughout the fight, each attempt to remove range gives him 1 MP, with no duration limit and cumulatively.

Rential Storm
Across the whole map, on turn 2 then every 3 turns. Mastigator becomes Invulnerable for 2 turns, cannot be dispelled, and all his enemies receive the Grill effect for 2 turns.

Grill
At the start of each turn, the character gets the Scorch state for 3 turns, cumulative, takes 500 Fire damage and hits allies and enemies within a radius of 2 for 500 Fire. If they start their turn with Mastigator within this radius, they remove his invulnerability. Healing a Scorched character removes this state.

Ture
Hits for 600 Earth, harder on a Scorched target, and removes 100 Lock (150 on a critical hit) for 1 turn. In melee only, 2 times per turn and 1 times per target.

Rid
Teleports to the targeted cell and hits for 400 Neutral on the cell in front of him, with the Gravity state for 1 turn on a Scorched target. Hits characters diagonal to his landing cell for 150 Air and pushes them back 3 cells. In a line from 2 to 5 range, once per turn.

Risation
Hits for 130 Air in a half-circle of radius 3 and removes 3 dodgeable MP for 1 turn from the targeted character. Scorched targets also lose 15% resistance (20% on a critical hit) for 2 turns. In a line from 4 to 8 range, once per turn.

Tip: never remove range from him
Each range removal gives him 1 MP, and Ture hurts in melee: stay out of his reach, knowing he teleports up to 5 range each turn.

Tip: a healer who plays last
On turns under Grill (2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9…), heal all your characters, even at full health, to remove their Scorch state. The healer must play last, or first if they have initiative over Mastigator: each character must have started their turn, and thus gained the Scorch state, before being healed.

Tip: more than 2 range away from your allies
Under Grill, each character hits everything within a radius of 2 around them for about 500 Fire: space your characters out.

Tip: a character near him when he becomes invulnerable
On turns 2, 5, 8, 11…, place a character who hasn't played yet within 2 range of Mastigator. His aggressive AI often makes him end his turn in contact with a character: you then just need to wait for that character's turn.
The rewards
XP and 1,080 Wantoken, according to the game data. The legendary hunt also rewards whoever started it with a hunt chest and 1 Mastigator's Egg.
