1. 1Open the Soggy Book

   Double-click the Soggy Book to start the quest. Its pages are unreadable: you need to find a specialist.

2. 2Show the book to Doctor Hoo

   Items[20,25] · Doctor Hoo

   In the library, Doctor Hoo peels the pages apart: the book was written by a certain Cisfran Stonthur, who cites an author whose works the doctor owns, P.H. Lavcroft.

3. 3Read an extract of Lavcroft's works

   [20,25]

   Click on Lavcroft's works in the library. Then talk to Doctor Hoo again: there is sometimes a grain of truth in these tales, notably about Justine Smouf, who really does exist.

4. 4Open Justine Smouf's door

   [21,22]

   The door of the house is locked. Go to [7,25] and click the toolbox to get a Rooky's Lockpick, then come back and open the door. Go in and click the pool: you can't dive into its depths for now.

5. 5Ask Pink Tada for the Fear-Catcher

   Dialogue[23,24] · Pink Tada

   Ask for details about the Fear-Catcher: Pink Tada gives you a Jitter Filter, used to craft it, in exchange for 20 Pearl of the Depths or an Angular Stone.

   If you already have a Fear-Catcher, choose “Pretend that you need the fear-catcher to recover pearls”, without an Angular Stone on you: otherwise she takes it from you. The quest advances without spending anything.

6. 6Get a Fear-Catcher

   Items

   Buy it at the resource auction house, or have it crafted by a level 200 Carver with 1 Jitter Filter, 50 Diepwon Tentacle, 50 N'yalgy Tentacle, 50 Spookkoth's Eye, 10 Mahaquany Wood, 20 Limpet, 20 Sepiolite and 1 Seemyool Amber. Seemyool Amber is bought from Pink Tada.

7. 7Defeat Justine Smouf

   Combat[21,22] · Justine Smouf

   Go back into the house and click the pool: protected by the Fear-Catcher, you go down. Try to talk to Justine Smouf: a fight starts, which can be done in a group.

8. 8Defeat She Who Was Justine Smouf

   Combat[21,22]

   Once defeated, Justine transforms: pull on her tentacles to take her on. This fight can also be done in a group. You get an Abominable Statuette.

9. 9Show the statuette to Doctor Hoo
