The 13 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Danaba Retzu

   Dialogue[36,-40] · Danaba Retzu

   Danaba Retzu leads the Faye Pworme Boots, who fight the specters of Nolifis but lack men and anti-ghost weapons. To strengthen their ties with the blacksmith Nasumara, she asks you to help Nasumara save a samurai friend, prisoner of Dark Vlad's curse.

   1. “Ask how the fight against the mist army is going”

   Optional: choose “Announce your intention to join the battle against the ghosts”, then “Accept and give him the fabrics” with 4 Samurai Ghost Fabric, to learn the spell Slayspirit Lantern, useful in Shogun Tofugawa's Tomb and Spirit Abode.

   

2. 2Listen to the blacksmith Nasumara

   Dialogue[39,-40] · Nasumara

   Enter the basement on the right and talk to Nasumara. Shogun Tofugawa, having become paranoid, accused him of forging cursed weapons. Only his friend the samurai Minamoto Tsuneyoshi defended him: the shogun confiscated his katana, the Harusame, then had him executed. Tsuneyoshi's soul must be freed so that it can reincarnate.

   

3. 3Go back to Danaba Retzu

   Dialogue[36,-40] · Danaba Retzu

   Tell her the blacksmith's story. She knows where the tomb is, but first sends you to see Zhou'tan, who can weaken the ghost's curse.

4. 4Go see Zhou'tan

   Dialogue[37,-40] · Zhou'tan

   On the map to the right, Zhou'tan explains that he isolates a spirit from its curse using his vacuum. He accompanies you as a follower character to the samurai's tomb.

   

5. 5Face the samurai's specter

   Combat[33,-43]

   Go to the front of the tomb and talk to Minamoto Tsuneyoshi, who doesn't want to be freed from his curse. A fight starts, alone with Zhou'tan.

6. 6Talk to Minamoto Tsuneyoshi

   Dialogue[33,-43] · Minamoto Tsuneyoshi

   Follow the specter into his tomb and talk to him: he has regained his senses, and you need to explain his past to him. Grateful, he asks you for one last favor: find his missing katana, the Harusame, and bring it back to Nasumara.

7. 7Escort Zhou'tan to his camp

   Movement · Zhou'tan

   According to Zhou'tan, the katana was surely stolen by looters. But the tank of his vacuum is cracking: the curse is more powerful than expected, and he asks you to escort him to his camp. On arrival, the tank breaks and releases pieces of the curse.

8. 8Disperse the Curse Fires

   Talk to the Curse Fire. A fight starts, which can be done in a group.

9. 9Have the curse absorbed

   [36,-40] · Slymher

   Talk to Slymher so that he absorbs the last residues of the curse. Talk to Zhou'tan again: he has to repair his equipment, but advises you to question the ghosts in the tavern.

10. 10Question the three ghosts in the tavern

    Dialogue[36,-43]

    In the cemetery tavern, talk to the three ghosts. Namabiru heard that the thief was a merchant. The Drunken Drumurai claims it was a Pandawa. The Famished Onabu saw someone in a pandawa hat heading back to the village.

    

11. 11Accuse Belzoniwa the Merchant

    [20,-28] · Belzoniwa the Merchant

    On the market square, accuse Belzoniwa of stealing the Harusame. He confesses: he wanted to feed his family, and resold it to the Bamboo Palace authorities by passing it off as an heirloom.

    You need at least 300 Wisdom to talk to Belzoniwa the Merchant.

12. 12Collect the Harusame

    Items[22,-29] · Daimya Hikomi

    Daimya Hikomi still has the blade and considers it a treasure of Pandawa heritage. Since your quest is legitimate, she agrees to entrust it to you to return it to its creator.

    Hand the katana to Nasumara and tell him his friend's last words. He thanks you and hopes his masterpiece will one day find a new calling. The quest ends.

How to succeed in the fight against Minamoto Tsuneyoshi?

Protect Zhou'tan: if he dies, the fight is lost. Minamoto hits much harder on him with Shishi Sonson.

You need at least 300 Wisdom. He is on the Pandala market square, in [20,-28].

Where to get the Harusame katana?
