The 10 quest steps

1. 1Talk to Chief Krokuto

   Dialogue[-9,-49] · Chief Krokuto

   Chief Krokuto reveals to you what he did with the stagecoach passengers: Hulos the baker is said to be held by the Stontusk Desert Kanigs.

   

2. 2Discover the Kanig quarry

   [-3,-53] · Reactionary Slave

   Head to the Stontusk Desert, at the entrance to the Kanig quarry. Ask the Reactionary Slave where Hulos is: she answers with a line worthy of Jean-Claude Van Damme. Go and question less philosophical slaves.

   

3. 3Question the slaves

   Dialogue

   Talk to the following slaves. The Exhausted Slave worked next to Hulos, but doesn't know where he is. The Grumpy Slave doesn't know him. The Vengeful Slave wants to skin a certain Lalat, but doesn't know Hulos either.

4. 4Feed the Hungry Slave

   Give an Incarnam Bread to the young slave to make her talk: she knows Hulos, and some Orfans took him elsewhere.

5. 5Talk to Flowdraa

   Dialogue[-3,-53] · Flowdraa

   Ask Flowdraa, the Kanig in charge of looking after the slaves, what he did with the baker. He will tell you in exchange for 6 Tarmite Larvae.

6. 6Pick up 6 Tarmite Larvae

   Collect

   The larvae are picked up near the pens, one per map.

   • [-3,-55] third larva
   • [-1,-51] fourth larva
   • [0,-51] fifth larva
   • [0,-50] sixth larva

   Picking up the larvae can give you two curses: one turns your character yellow, the other removes 20% critical hits and 500 Initiative.

7. 7Give the larvae to Flowdraa

   Items[-3,-53] · Flowdraa

   Hulos refused to cook a delicious dish for Kanigrula: he was punished and put on dish-washing duty. To free him, you have to face the Great Matriarch.

8. 8Defeat Kanigrula

   Combat[-5,-54]

   Head to the entrance of Kanigrula's rocky palace and do the Kanigrula's Cave dungeon: defeat Kanigrula in a single fight.

9. 9Reply to Kanigrula

   Displeased, Kanigrula threatens you: answer that her words change nothing about your victory. She agrees to free Hulos, though not to free all the slaves.

10. 10Find Brhedd Butter

    Hulos is waiting for you at the dungeon exit and thanks you. He gives you a Bowzai pet, and the quest ends.
