The 5 rooms of Sphincter Cell's Lair

Five fights: four Gang rat rooms, then Sphincter Cell. Talk to Aperirel to enter, and again to leave. For each room: the scenery, then the tactical view with the starting cells (blue: you, red: the monsters). Tap an image to enlarge it.

Room 1

Four rats: the Rugrat, who removes AP and RNG, the Packrat, who pushes back and heals its allies, the Ratfink and the Raeman, who inflict AP and stat penalties on you and give MP to their allies. The Rugrat is the most bothersome for ranged characters.

Defeat Sphincter Cell

200% resistances everywhere

Sphincter Cell resists 200% in all elements: hitting him directly is pointless. Only his turtles, summoned with Mutagen, can remove these resistances, provided you place them correctly.

Summons the four turtles, each tied to an element: they are what lets you remove the boss's resistances.

The four-step strategy against Sphincter Cell

The rats first. Kill all the monsters that accompany him, especially the Black Rat and the White Rat. Also kill the turtles whose element is of no use to you; keep the one that matches your damage.

Immobilize Sphincter Cell. He leaps with Short Cut: he must be made impossible to move. Put him in Gravity, and at 0 MP, or in Gravity with each of his sides blocked.

Place the turtle. Place the chosen turtle in contact with Sphincter Cell, at 0 MP, and one of your characters in contact with the turtle: with no character next to it, the turtle casts nothing. On its turn, Kawabunga removes 200% resistance in its element from the boss, and from the adjacent character, for 2 turns.

Strike in the right element. Hit Sphincter Cell in the turtle's element. If you do not think you can finish him in one or two turns, repeat the operation: a second Kawabunga brings him down to -200%, and the fight becomes easy.

The four turtles

Mutagen summons Raphaela, Donatella, Michelangela and Leonardawa. Each turtle has its own color and element: red for Fire, yellow for Air, green for Earth, blue for Water. You can place several in contact with the boss to stack the weaknesses.

The monsters of Sphincter Cell's Lair

Eight level 133 to 142 Gang rats, each very weak in one element (-30%) and very resistant in another (69%), plus the Black Rat and the White Rat, who accompany the boss. Vary your elements. The resistances in red are their weaknesses.

In which order to kill the monsters

  1. Black Rat — his KilleRat kills its target, Korrattion restores thousands of HP to an ally and Black Plague strikes based on his own HP.
  2. White Rat — it gains 50% resistances with Sprat and removes your magic effects with White Plague.

Preparing your run through Sphincter Cell's Lair

A level 140 to 150 dungeon that requires a bit of preparation: two keys to obtain elsewhere, and a boss you cannot hit without his turtles. People come here for the quests, the achievements and Sphincter Cell's soul, useful for the Ochre Dofus, with a Soul Stone for Big Souls (captures up to level 150).

How to enter Sphincter Cell's Lair

The entrance is in the Amakna Sewers, at , right next to the Amakna Castle zaap . Talk to Aperirel to enter. There are three ways to open it: a Sphincter Cell's Lair Key (consumed), the key ring if it is registered there, or the automatic group search.

Crafting the Sphincter Cell's Lair Key

It is crafted by a handyman, but requires two keys earned in other dungeons: the First Sphincter Dungeon Key drops at 100% from the White Rat, in the White Rat's Pantry, and the Second from the Black Rat, in the Black Rat's Moumousetrap. Grossewer Rat Hair, Grossewer Raeman Skin, Hyoactive Rat Tail, Sickle-Hammerhead Shark, Ginseng and Hemp complete the recipe.

Which team to bring against Sphincter Cell

Gravity. The whole strategy relies on an immobile boss, stuck to his turtle. A character who applies Gravity is essential, ideally with MP removal.

Several elements. Each Gang rat is very weak in one element and resists 69% in another. Vary your elements, and against the boss choose the turtle that matches your best damage.

The classes that have it easy. The Iop, the Cra and the Enutrof can put Sphincter Cell in Gravity; the Enutrof can also leave him with no MP. Melee characters must beware of the Prat's Weakened state.

The five achievements of Sphincter Cell's Lair

Each achievement gives 16,457,000 XP and 2 Sphincter Cell Femur, Duo doubles the XP. Last is completed with the basic strategy, which saves the boss for last.

Last

Sphincter Cell must be finished off last. That is the normal flow: all the rats first, Black Rat and White Rat leading, then Sphincter Cell once weakened by his turtles.

Special: Four-Colour Pizwa

No ally may suffer the effects of the Kawabunga spell. Kawabunga, the turtles' spell, applies an elemental weakness in a cross around the turtle. So never stand in contact with a turtle throughout the fight.
