The room of Ush's Plateau

A single room, but as many monsters as a regular dungeon: five waves. At the start, the boss and three monsters for four characters, one more per additional character; each wave has as many monsters as fighters. It arrives after a certain number of turns, or right away if the previous one is cleared. The scenery, then the tactical view with the starting cells (blue: you, red: the monsters). Defeat both Ush Galesh

Red in melee, Black at a distance

An Ush Galesh only takes damage in the right mode: in the Red state, hit it in melee; in the Black state, at a distance. Each hit that lands makes it change state. An attack in the wrong mode does nothing to it.

There are two of them and they share damage: each hit is split in half between them. Negativism passes the Red and Black states, with Unlockable and Unmovable, from one Ush to the other. In melee, Unhealthy Pulsation pushes back 3 cells; in a line, Red Flash hits up to 12 Range and removes resistances.

  • Unhealthy Pulsation4 AP · on itself · Kills the target · Pushes back 3 cells · Neutral76 to 80 Neutral damage

Red: strikes in melee and pushes back 3 cells. Black: pulls characters in a cross at 3 Range or more.

The four-step strategy

Kill each wave quickly. The waves pile up if you drag your feet. Eliminate the monsters fast enough never to have ten or more facing you. Aim for their weaknesses, all different.

Read the state before hitting. Before each attack on an Ush, check its state. Alternate ranged and melee hits: a ranged spell, then a hit from an adjacent cell, then ranged again, and so on.

Keep an exit. The Ushes lock well, and since they share the heavy state, you can't always push the one you're hitting. Plan how to get out of melee before going in: Unhealthy Pulsation pushes back, and the black version pulls you in.

Keep an eye on Moggymorphosis. Each turn, each monster strengthens the monster closest to it, or itself if it is alone. Spot who carries Moggymorphosis before approaching: that one has the most dangerous spells.

Moggymorphosis

All the Plateau's monsters have this spell. Cast every turn, it applies the Moggymorphosis state, with no duration limit, to the monster closest to the caster; a lone monster therefore has it permanently, and when it dies, the state passes to the closest monster.

Under this state, the Pouncer's Fortificatsion also steals 2 MP, the Calleyat's Premature Ageing gives it 400 power and makes you Pacifist, and the Catichan's One Inch Scratch kills its target in melee.

Unhealthy Pulsation

It changes depending on the Ush casting it. The red Ush hits characters in melee with it for Fire damage and pushes them back 3 cells; the black one hits for Neutral and pulls characters placed in a cross, at 3 Range or more. Don't stay stuck to an Ush for no reason, especially when weakened.

The monsters of Ush's Plateau

Five level 152 Weremoggies, each weak to a different element, and the second Ush Galesh. Match your targets to your elements rather than hitting the first one that comes along. The resistances in red are their weaknesses.

In which order to kill the monsters

  1. Catichan — each hit taken gives it one MP, and its claw kills in melee under Moggymorphosis.
  2. Calleyat — its doubles fill the room, and it makes you Pacifist under Moggymorphosis.
  3. Pouncer, then Sucatrose, then Catsquatch — after that, depending on your elements and which one carries Moggymorphosis.

Preparing your run through Ush's Plateau

A level 150 to 160 dungeon, long despite its single room, for teams that know how to alternate melee and distance. People come for In Red and Black, the achievements and Ush's Moustaches. Ush Galesh cannot be captured.

How to enter Ush's Plateau

The entrance is in the Ecaflipus dimension, in the Hairy Moor, at : talk to Catfred to enter. The nearest Ecaflipus zaap is the Elevation Stones one . You need an Ush's Plateau Key (consumed) or automatic group search: the key ring doesn't work here.

Crafting the Ush's Plateau Key

It is crafted by a handyman. Four ingredients drop from the Plateau's Weremoggies: Catsquatch Tail, Pouncer Fur, Catichan's Collar and Calleyat Ear. The Weremoggy Claw is bought for 2 Orichor from Collector Ikor, at in Ecaflipus; Orichor is earned through the divine dimension quests.

The right team for Ush's Plateau

Melee and distance. The Ushes only take damage when you alternate melee and distance. A team that mixes melee and ranged hits every turn without wasting any hits.

Several elements. Fire against the Pouncer, Earth against the Sucatrose, Neutral against the Catichan, Air against the Calleyat, Water against the Catsquatch. The more elements you cover, the faster the waves fall.

The classes that feel at home. The Rogue shines for the Special with its bomb wall; classes that hit hard both in melee and at a distance, or that disengage easily, are the most comfortable against the Ushes.

The five achievements of Ush's Plateau

Each achievement gives 21,521,000 XP and 2 Ush's Moustache; Duo doubles the XP. Duo is played in fewer than 30 turns, not 20.

Special: Spade to Rest

Don't attack the same enemy several times in the same turn. Not hard, but restrictive: each enemy can only take one line of damage per full turn. A monster hit by an Iop on turn 1 can't be hit again before that Iop's turn 2. Rely on spells with high base damage, or on a Rogue's bomb wall: once charged, push the enemies into it one by one.

First

Ush Galesh must be finished off first. Organize the whole fight around the Ushes: hit them from the start, alternating melee and distance, and only touch the other monsters if they directly threaten a character.

Zombie

Use exactly one movement point per turn. A single MP doesn't let the same character alternate between melee and distance. Place some characters in melee and others at a distance, and have the one matching the current state hit.

Duo

Two characters maximum, fewer than 30 turns. Two complementary characters, in damage and positioning. Don't let the waves pile up: quickly kill the fragile monsters according to their weaknesses, then the Calleyat's doubles.

Drops and loot of Ush's Plateau
