1. 1Talk to Magus Ax's Astral Form

   The quest starts in the present-day Vagabonds' Tree, at [0,0], with Magus Ax's Astral Form.

   1. “Announce that it's time for you to go back to Corruption's dimension”

2. 2Return to the Tree of Death

   Movement[4,0]

   Go in front of the Tree of Death, in the Corruption's Kingdom area. The idol created by Sadida has lost all its power: it will no longer help you against the corruption.

3. 3Ask Hermit Dogabah for advice

   Dialogue[4,2] · Dogabah Hermit

   The tree is bound to Corruption: it's impossible to destroy it without destroying the rider, who regenerates with every death. Only a divine power could defeat it, and most Meridians have vanished since the Eliocalypse. However, she knows a place that corruption hasn't reached yet.

4. 4Find the preserved place

   Movement[0,3]

   In [0,3], discover the map without corruption. A little voice asks you to eliminate a few monsters so it can awaken.

5. 5Clear the area

   Combat

   Defeat in the dimension 5 Dolid, 6 Elgrun, 7 Tentaclobber and 8 Demongrel.

6. 6Meet Kernuros

   Dialogue[0,3] · Kernuros

   Go back to [0,3] and talk to Kernuros, who has regained a physical body thanks to you. He is the god of Renewal: once strong enough, he will be able to destroy the Tree of Death. In the meantime, he asks you to water plants in the dimension.

7. 7Water the eight bluish flowers

   On each of these eight maps, click the bluish flower to water it: each flower uses 10 Drinking Water, for 80 in total.

8. 8Go back to Kernuros

   Dialogue[0,3] · Kernuros

   The flowers' energy restores Kernuros's strength. To regain even more, he asks you to find followers ready to join his cult.

9. 9Convince Hermit Dogabah

   In the hope of finding edible fruit again, she agrees to go and meet the god of Renewal.

10. 10Convince the Akronite Guard

    Dialogue[0,0] · Akronite Guard

    Tell him about Kernuros. He refuses at first, since it would be betraying Sadida and the great Putrid. But when you admit to him that the god of Renewal is the origin of the mushrooms he loves, he agrees to meet him.

11. 11Approach the Elgrun Mother

    On the map below, at [0,1], approach the Elgrun Mother. A fight starts, to be done solo. After the victory, talk to her again with the same dialogue choice.

12. 12Introduce the followers to Kernuros

    Dialogue[0,3] · Kernuros

    Kernuros is pleased with his new followers and feels stronger. Before taking on the Tree of Death, he asks you to try to reason with it.

13. 13Communicate with the Tree of Death

    Touch the root in the center of the map. You are teleported to the exit of the Tree of Death: talk to the Tree of Death's Avatar. A fight starts, to be done solo, against 4 avatars that each have 80% resistances in every element and attack with the spells of a monster from the area, described on the Tree of Death dungeon page. Each turn, one of them, bigger than the others, has only 20% resistances; sometimes, none does.

    1. “Approach him”

    You have to kill the avatar with 20% resistances, during the turn when it has them. Killing an avatar with 80% knocks you out of the fight in one hit.

14. 14Listen to the Tree of Death's Avatar

    After the fight, talk to the Tree of Death's Avatar again: Corruption forced him to obey through torture.

15. 15Tell Kernuros about the discussion

    [0,3] · Kernuros

    The tree isn't inherently evil, it is being manipulated. Rather than destroy it, Kernuros wants to offset Corruption's influence by sealing the tree with his power, at the cost of his own sacrifice. Despite your efforts to talk him out of it, his decision is made.

16. 16Defeat Corruption

    Do the Tree of Death dungeon, whose entrance is at [4,0], and defeat Corruption in a single fight.

17. 17Use Kernuros's Power

    [4,0] · Corruption

    Before leaving the dungeon, double-click Kernuros's Power in your inventory. The power flows out of your hand and vanishes, with no apparent effect. Talk to Corruption, who boasts of having foiled your plan, until a presence interrupts him.

18. 18Talk to both Kernuroses

    Dialogue[4,0] · Kernuros

    Talk to Kernuros, who has just reappeared, then to the second, bigger Kernuros that appeared next to him. This isn't the Kernuros you knew: the little god's power worked, and other little Kernuroses appear in turn.

19. 19Make Corruption admit defeat

    [4,0] · Corruption

    Talk to Corruption again: he will no longer be able to corrupt other trees to extend his power. Mad with rage, he swears to regain his strength to make you suffer. The quest ends and you receive Corruption's Will.

Yes, keep going. Talk to Corruption, then to the two Kernuroses that appear: the power worked.
