In Search of Al Ive

What to prepare

You must be able to get through the first four rooms of The Obsidemon's Hypogeum dungeon, twice, without finishing it in between.

1. 1Talk to Bea Fortax

   Dialogue[-72,-40] · Bea Fortax

   Bea wants you to find her fiancé Al Ive, who disappeared before the glaciation, to give him a letter.

   

2. 2Question Ogivol Victor

   Dialogue[-71,-87] · Ogivol Victor

   In the Tears of Ouronigride, Ogivol Victor last saw Al Ive as he was leaving for The Obsidemon's Hypogeum, now overrun by monsters.

   

3. 3Talk to Lavaz Za

   Dialogue[-71,-83] · Lavaz Za

   At the entrance of The Obsidemon's Hypogeum, Lavaz Za tells you that Al Ive never came back out of the dungeon: he is probably dead.

   

4. 4Find Al Ive in the Hypogeum

   Movement[-71,-83] · Al Ive

   Make your way through The Obsidemon's Hypogeum dungeon to room 4, where Al Ive is. He was in love with a creature named Groomit, and asks you to make Bea believe he is dead, so as not to make her suffer.

   In room 4, don't start the fight against the monsters on the map.

5. 5Tell Bea about Dan's death

   Dialogue[-72,-40] · Bea Fortax

   Leave the Hypogeum and tell Bea about Dan's death, as agreed. Convinced that Groomit killed her fiancé, she asks you to avenge her by killing Groomit.

   Don't start any fight and don't finish the dungeon: you will need the save again.

   

6. 6Defeat Groomit

   Combat[-71,-83] · Al Ive

   Go back to room 4 of the Hypogeum, without starting the map's fight, and talk to Al Ive to find out where Groomit is. A team can help you, whether or not they did the quest. Characters at the same point of the quest who join the fight also see their quest progress, without having to talk to Dan.

7. 7Go back to Bea Fortax

Where does the In Search of Al Ive quest begin?

With Bea Fortax, in Frigost Village at [-72,-40]. You must be level 130 and have completed Low-Cost Heating.

Where to find Al Ive?

In room 4 of The Obsidemon's Hypogeum, whose entrance is at [-71,-83]. Don't start the fight against the monsters in this room.

Do you need to finish the dungeon?

No, especially not between the two runs. Keep the save: you come back to room 4 for the fight against Groomit.

Can you fight Groomit in a group?

Yes. Even with characters who don't have the quest or have completed it. Those at the same point of the quest see it progress by joining the fight.

How do I beat Groomit?

Without moving it or removing MP from it: each attempt restores more and more HP to it and deals 100 damage to it. Beware of its poison and of Lavocado in melee.

What does the quest give?

4,564,056 XP, 57,560 kamas, 3 Ice Kama and 1 Mofette Tuff.
