4Talk to Malva Bigpaunch
Dialogue · Malva Bigpaunch
Inside, Malva Bigpaunch introduces herself as a close friend of Vitkour: of their small group of Nimbos, only the two of them remain. Vitkour supported Berylbell's expedition, launched to find the Nimbos' treasure, plundered after the death of the King of Kings Skori Blanchebière, and which led the Nimbos to this island in the year 77. But he wanted to go home, and Berylbell's refusal to give up drove him to sabotage the expedition. Fearing that harm to trade between Albuera and Ereboria might lead to war, Malva agrees to help you and advises questioning the tavern's regulars.
-
5Question Kreke Raesaglas
Dialogue · Kreke Raesaglas
Enter the tavern with Malva and ask Kreke Raesaglas whether he has seen Zippy. When he sees Malva, whom he calls by her original clan name, a Stonebelly, he refuses to answer you.
-
6Listen to Malva's advice
Dialogue · Malva Bigpaunch
Talk to Malva Bigpaunch. Kreke, a Nimbos from the Hardhead clan, holds a grudge: he has resented her since she paid her tab late. To get him to talk, she advises you to disrupt the running of his tavern.
-
7Provoke the Brewbittered Customer
Combat · Brewbittered Customer
Talk to the Brewbittered Customer and provoke him. A fight starts, to be done solo; it seems a companion is still allowed, though.
Nimbos gain 1 Stubbygerness state for each line of damage dealt, up to 2 times per turn. These states grant bonuses and add spells: they are detailed on the Bitter-Hammers' Stronghold dungeon page.

9Make Kreke Raesaglas talk
· Kreke Raesaglas
With his tavern turned upside down, Kreke Raesaglas becomes more talkative: Zippy did come by, clinked glasses with other Nimbos, and the whole bunch went off to eat at the mushroom farm. Then talk to Malva Bigpaunch: she thinks he is probably there and asks you to follow her.
-
10Question Girol
Dialogue · Girol
Go to the mushroom farm and talk to Girol. Zippy is a regular, but he didn't come today, contrary to what the tavern keeper claims; according to her, it is rather Malva, always glued to him, who should be questioned. Insist: tired of your questions, Girol threatens to throw you out by force.
Dialogue
- “Refuse to leave”
In a group, choose the first option instead, “Take a few seconds to think”: the quest updates for all characters and the fight is only done once.
-
11Get rid of Girol's mushrooms
Movement
A fight starts, doable in a group. Spells encountered: Sporphan (100 power for 3 turns to the caster and the targeted ally); Fungusquirt (270 Water, up to 4 range without line of sight); Bacterror (350 Water in a star of size 6 around him); Barbwoletus (pulls itself 5 cells toward the target and deals 150 Air, in a line up to 6 range); Tomboletus (250 Air and pushes back, in melee); Bolesion (450 Air in 3 lines of 150, in melee); Xic Tok (300 Fire, steals 2 dodgeable MP, up to 5 range); Powderite (450 Fire in a 3×3 square around him); Mildew (250 Fire); Sporgasm (heals 1,000 in a circle of radius 2 around him); Hydnum (230 Earth, 15% fewer resistances for 2 turns, up to 10 range); Hubrishroom (300 Earth, up to 4 range).

12Make Girol talk
· Girol
Talk to Girol again and insist. Recognizing your strength, she admits she saw Zippy at the nearby waterfall, surrounded by other Bitter-Hammers, hands tied like a prisoner. Alert Malva Bigpaunch: she asks you to follow her to the waterfall.
-
13Find the waterfall passage
Movement · Malva Bigpaunch
The waterfall is on the map to the right. Talk to Malva again, who advises you to look for traces of the Nimbos' passage. Examine the rock debris at the foot of the large pillar: footprints lead to the waterfall and vanish. Move closer to discover a secret passage, to the left of the waterfall.
-
14Defeat the drowned
Combat
As soon as you find the passage, drowned creatures jump you: a fight starts, to be done solo, with a companion allowed. Each drowned creature gains a Drowning level at the start of its turn. From the first level on, it places a glyph in a circle of radius 1 around itself at the end of its turn, which grows by 1 with each level; at the end of the turn, its glyph gives it 50 power, with no end, and deals 500 Water damage to it, and a monster that starts its turn in an ally's glyph suffers the same. Their other spells: 2 MP and 1,000 shield points for 1 turn; 20 Earth with life steal; 20 Water; 40 Water with 2 MP removed for 1 turn.
A character who starts their turn in a blue glyph, or who passes through it, takes 150 Water damage.
-
15Unmask Malva Bigpaunch
· Malva Bigpaunch
Behind the waterfall, in the secret cave, you find Zippy locked in a cell. Listen to Malva Bigpaunch lash out at the Nimbos who captured him, too careless and who haven't eliminated him yet: she is the traitor. She plans to lock you in with Zippy in this cave that nobody knows about, where the waterfall drowns out calls for help and the rainy season floods it.
-
16Try to catch up with Malva
Combat
A wave fight starts, doable in a group. Four waves, 3 turns apart, each made up of 1 Hardarmur Soldiers, 1 Slingobb Soldiers, 1 Boarok Soldiers and 1 Bylhuk Soldiers. Their spells are those of the Nimbos of the Bitter-Hammers' Stronghold dungeon. After the fight, you find yourself behind bars alongside Zippy Swifoot: the quest ends.
Only characters who have the quest in progress at this step, or who have already completed it, can go behind the waterfall and join the fight.
