Defeat LeChouque

Below 30% HP, it means death

At the start of each of LeChouque's turns, Pirate Curse hits the closest non-Cursed character and all Cursed characters. At 30% HP or less, they are killed outright, and a pirate appears on their cell. Heal before its turn.

He hits almost exclusively in melee, but Cursed Saber Strike removes power from you and makes you Cursed for two turns. Spectral Teleportation swaps him with one of his allies, anywhere on the map, once per turn. Alone, he is no longer a threat. Weak to Fire, he resists Water.

  • Cursed Saber Strike icon
    Cursed Saber Strike3 AP · melee · Neutral41 to 45 Neutral damage · Cursed State · -150 Power

In melee: -150 power and the Cursed state for two turns. On a target at 50% HP or less, it also summons a pirate next to it.

  • Spectral Teleportation icon
    Spectral Teleportation2 AP · 63 Range

Swaps places with an ally, at unlimited range, once per turn; the ally gains 200 power. Impossible if either of them is under Gravity.

The five-step strategy

Six cells of margin. With 5 MP, LeChouque reaches you after a place swap: keep every monster more than 6 cells away from you. The map is small, MP removal helps a lot, and fleeing monsters advance little.

Gravity on LeChouque. A LeChouque under Gravity can no longer swap places. Failing that, put Gravity on the monsters closest to you: it won't be able to swap with them.

Choose who takes the Curse. The closest non-Cursed character to LeChouque is hit by the Curse every turn. Put a sturdy, not-so-decisive character there, above 30% HP, and keep your big hitters away: their damage would be minimized.

Always above 50%. At 50% or less, Cursed Saber Strike summons a pirate next to you and the Hazwonarm's Mortal Cutting kills you. Heal constantly, or never let those two reach you.

The crew, then the captain. The Drunkyller first, then the Hazwonarm, ideally in one turn, and the Snickerblade. Once his allies are dead, LeChouque can no longer swap places: finish him from a distance, preferably with Fire.

The Pirate Curse

This passive triggers at the start of each of LeChouque's turns, on the closest non-Cursed character and on all Cursed ones: their random effects are minimized for the turn, so minimum damage and no critical hits, and they take Water life-steal damage.

The Cursed state can only be obtained in melee, from Cursed Saber Strike, and lasts two turns without being dispellable. Keeping LeChouque away means avoiding the Cursed state: only the closest character then remains exposed.

Who LeChouque can reach

The Drunkyller, the Boomba and the Cannon Dorf have a fleeing AI: they back off after hitting, which makes them poor targets for his swap. The aggressive Snickerblade and Hazwonarm always advance toward you: they are the ones he uses as a springboard.

The monsters of LeChouque's Boat

Five level 82 pirates, each weak to a different element. Three flee, two charge at you: those two are the ones to slow down. Resistances in red are their weaknesses.

In which order to kill the monsters

  1. Drunkyller — it hits from a distance, places a burning glyph and stacks Intelligence every turn.
  2. Hazwonarm — it pulls its whole line and kills in melee below 50% HP; kill it in one turn.
  3. Snickerblade — 5 MP and an aggressive AI: it reaches you fast and blocks your escape.
  4. Boomba, then Cannon Dorf — they flee, hitting from afar but advancing little.

Preparing your run through LeChouque's Boat

A level 80 to 90 dungeon for teams that heal, play at range and control movement. You come for the island's quests, the achievements, the LeChouque's Beards and the capture with an Average Soul Stone (captures up to level 100).

How to enter LeChouque's Boat

The entrance is at the end of the Skull Path, on Moon island, in ; the nearest zaap is the one at Turtle Beach , and the island opens with Leave and Not Come Back. You need a LeChouque's Boat Key (consumed), the key ring, or the automatic group search. To leave, talk to LeChouque.

Crafting the LeChouque's Boat Key

It is crafted at a handyman's. Five ingredients drop from the dungeon's pirates, at 39%: Pirate's Cute Shorts, Cannon Dorf Ball, Hazwonarm Headband, Rusty Blade and Stale Meat. Kralove (fishing), Freyesque Orchid and Flax (harvesting) complete the recipe.

The right team for LeChouque's Boat

A healer. The whole fight comes down to two thresholds, 50% and 30% HP. Healing classes are a real asset for keeping everyone above them.

MP removal, Gravity, range removal. MP removal keeps the Snickerblade, the Hazwonarm and LeChouque at a distance; range removal hinders the Ivremor and the Boomba. The Gravity state blocks LeChouque's swaps.

Not all Water. LeChouque has 36% Water resistance. An all-Water team will struggle to finish him: bring at least one other element, ideally Fire.

The classes that do well here. Healing and protection classes, and those that remove MP or apply Gravity, are the most comfortable. Melee combat is still possible, but means never dropping below 50% HP.

The five achievements of LeChouque's Boat

Each achievement gives 2,853,000 XP and 2 LeChouque's Beard, and the Duo doubles the XP. Last and Special are done in the same fight: both come down to killing LeChouque last.

LeChouque (Special) iconLeChouque (Special) Defeat LeChouque in his dungeon by completing the “Swappin' Swabbie Swatter” challenge. 10 2 853 000

Special: Swappin' Swabbie Swatter

When LeChouque swaps places with an ally, that ally must be finished off in fewer than two turns. He can only swap with one ally per turn: that monster becomes your target, no matter what, ideally killed before LeChouque's next turn. He has low initiative: on the first turn, you have time to kill or damage a monster before his first swap. Once all the monsters are dead, the achievement is yours.

Last

LeChouque must be finished off last. That's the basic strategy. Keep everyone above 50% HP: each pirate summoned by Cursed Saber Strike or by the Curse lengthens the list of monsters to kill before him.

Nomad

Use all your MP every turn; a partial escape means failure. Plan every move before your spells. Watch out for the Snickerblade and the Hazwonarm: Cut-Knee and the tackle from Down With The Enemy! make a partial escape very likely.

Duo

Two characters maximum, fewer than 20 turns. A duo that is self-sufficient in healing or protection. Kill the Ivremor as soon as possible, then the Hazwonarm or the Snickerblade, whichever approaches, with no pointless defensive turns.
