The 5 rooms of Royal Gobball's Court
Five fights in a row, with no puzzle or door to open: the next room unlocks when the fight ends. For each room: the setting, then the tactical view with the starting cells (blue: you, red: the monsters). Tap an image to enlarge it.
Room 1
Gobballs and Gobblies, which hit in melee. A warm-up room to practice your positioning.

Room 2
The same monsters, but they come from both sides: you get sandwiched. Group your team on one flank before attacking.

Room 3
The Gobball War Chief appears. He leaps 3 cells in a straight line with Gobball Rage: don't stay lined up with him.

Room 4
A bigger group. Kill the Black Gobball first, and always keep some MP to back away.

Room 5 — the Royal Gobball
The Royal Gobball and his henchmen. One character or summon next to him, everyone else far away: the strategy is detailed just below.

Defeating the Royal Gobball
The line-of-sight trap
The Royal Gobball can undo your efforts with Gobball Healing. Before attacking a monster, check that it isn't within the boss's range and line of sight, or finish it off immediately. A nearly dead monster can still be healed.

Fire 20%
Water 25%
Air 5%
Neutral 35%
It heals its allies, only attacks in melee and backs away after biting. It can't heal itself. Weak Point: Air; Neutral is what it withstands best.
Gobball HealingHeals an ally up to 6 range, twice per turn (once per target). It can't heal itself.
Royal Gobball BiteIts only attack, in melee. On a summon, the damage becomes life steal.
Woolly DreadnautGreatly reduces the damage taken by the targeted ally for one turn. Switch targets instead of hitting it.
The four-step strategy against the Royal Gobball
Positioning. During preparation, put one sturdy character (or a summon) next to the Royal Gobball and everyone else far away. No character with strong lock next to him: if it locks him, the boss can't back away anymore.
First turn. He bites the exposed character, then backs away on his own. Move that character away: with 5 MP, the boss can no longer reach you at 7 cells or more.
The henchmen, one by one. He heals twice per turn: spread your damage and you won't kill anything. Everything on one target, in the order given below, cutting his line of sight whenever possible.
The boss alone. Nothing left to heal. Attack from a distance, preferably with Air, and end every turn out of his reach. A summon placed in front of him makes him back away if someone gets caught.
Keeping him away from the team
The Royal Gobball only attacks in melee with Royal Gobball Bite, then may back away after his attack. Place a character or a summon next to him to trigger that movement, then move the whole team away. Never end your turn in his contact zone.
Dealing with his Woolly Dreadnaut
Woolly Dreadnaut reduces the damage taken by its target at range up to 7 cells. If a monster is protected, switch targets or wait for the effect to end, especially for Blitzkrieg. Gobball Healing heals his allies up to 6 cells away, so break the line of sight.
Finishing with the Royal
After the henchmen, stay out of range and focus your damage on the boss. His Air resistance is the lowest of his positive resistances, while Neutral is the least favorable. Avoid contact even when the fight seems won.
The monsters of Royal Gobball's Court
Five level 22 henchmen, fragile but annoying. Resistances in red are their weaknesses.
In which order to kill the monsters
- Black Gobball — it pulls you in a line and amplifies the damage you take.
- Gobball War Chief — he leaps 3 cells and brings the Gobballs back toward you.
- Gobball — it seeks contact and gives MP back to its allies.
- Black Gobbly, then White Gobbly — MP and AP removal, but low HP.

Preparing your run through Royal Gobball's Court
This run suits early teams able to play at range and handle a healer boss. You can fight the Royal Gobball here for the related achievement, the quests Back to Our Gobblies and Tiwagrum Simulation, as well as for the capture needed for the Ochre, with a Soul Stone for Small Souls (captures up to level 50).
How to enter Royal Gobball's Court
The entrance is in Tainela, at , two maps northeast of the Zaap . Talk to Rotable the Shepherd to enter, and again to leave. There are three ways to open the door: a Key to the Royal Gobball's Court (consumed), the key ring if it is registered there, or the automatic group search, which teleports you inside. The first key is given by the quest Day Viss Cup.
Crafting the Key to the Royal Gobball's Court
It is crafted at a handyman's workshop. Everything drops from the Gobballs in the area, except the Crab Surimi (fishing) and the two plants (farmer). It can also be found at the auction house, in the Keys category, for a few hundred kamas.

Which team to bring against the Royal Gobball
A group that keeps its distance. Favor classes able to push back, remove MP or play at range. The Black Gobball and the Gobball War Chief wreck your positioning with Gobball Breath and Gobball Rage, so keep an escape line open from the start. Distance protects better than lock.
The order that avoids heals. The Royal Gobball can heal his allies with Gobball Healing up to 6 cells away. Target the monsters one by one, starting with Black Gobball and Gobball War Chief, then keep the boss from having line of sight to your target whenever possible.
Comfortable classes. Anything that hits at range and controls positioning: Cra, Sram, Xelor, Enutrof, Sadida. Summoners (Osamodas, Sadida) have an extra edge: a summon next to the boss serves as its target and makes it back away. A melee class does just fine as long as it never ends its turn next to the Royal Gobball.
The five achievements of Royal Gobball's Court
Each achievement gives 65,400 XP and 2 Royal Gobball Leather, with Duo doubling it. A group that plays at range can complete Cautious, Special and Duo in the same fight.
| Achievements | Condition | Points | XP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Defeat the Royal Gobball in this boss's dungeon. | 10 | 65 400 | |
| Defeat the Royal Gobball in his dungeon while completing the challenge “A Boowolf Among the Sheep”. | 10 | 65 400 | |
| Defeat the Royal Gobball in his dungeon while completing the challenge “Duo”. | 20 | 130 800 | |
| Defeat the Royal Gobball in his dungeon while completing the challenge “Cautious”. | 10 | 65 400 | |
| Defeat the Royal Gobball in his dungeon while completing the challenge “Blitzkrieg”. | 10 | 65 400 |
Cautious
No ally may end their turn next to an enemy. Kill the Gobball and the War Chief first, since they seek contact. Beware of the Black Gobball, which pulls in a line, and the War Chief, who leaps 3 cells. Push spells help a lot; otherwise, always keep one cell of room to back away.
Blitzkrieg
Every enemy you attack must die before its next turn. The achievement is hard at level 30, because of the boss's HP: come back later, or bring six or more players, since the boss gains little HP per player. Start on a target just after it has played, ignore any monster under Woolly Dreadnaut, and save one turn of buffs for the boss.
Special: A Boowolf Among the Sheep
No enemy may be healed. On the boss's turn, every living Gobball must have all its HP: kill them in one go, or cut the line of sight between the boss and the one you are hitting. Removing the boss's range also works.
Duo
Two characters at most, fewer than 20 turns. The basic strategy is enough. If you lack the damage to finish a monster, hit them all (he only heals two per turn) or block his line of sight. Everything must be finished by the end of turn 19.

The Bow Meow pet
After the victory, before leaving the dungeon, talk to a Hostile Bow Meow with 5 Gobball Wool: it becomes your pet, with up to 70 power and 40 flight. Accepting makes you leave immediately, so pick up your drops first. You can get it on every run.
The Royal Gobball Shield
During the Dungeon Rusher weekends announced by Ankama, the boss automatically drops this ceremonial shield. It can't be obtained any other way.
Royal Gobball's Court as a guild Expedition
The same dungeon exists as an Expedition, for level 200 guilds. Same names, completely different mechanics:
- the boss has 16,000 HP and fully heals on each of his turns: only erosion or a one-turn kill works;
- making it uncurable gives it 1,000 Power for the whole fight: never do this;
- it swaps places with any entity up to 6 range, and its bite steals 3 MP;
- the Frizzies effect hits everyone: +20% damage per enemy in line, -20% per ally in line. Spread out and limit summons.
Where is Royal Gobball's Court?
In Tainela, at , two maps northeast of the Tainela zaap . Talk to Rotable the Shepherd to enter.
At what level should you do the dungeon?
From level 20, comfortably at 30. The Blitzkrieg achievement requires more damage: aim for around level 40, or play with six players.
Which quest should you do in Royal Gobball's Court?
Back to Our Gobblies, with Metamunch Kin in the Astrub tavern : accept it before entering; it is completed on the Royal Gobball. First do Day Viss Cup with Geoffrey Bratartian , which gives the key.
Which monster should you target first in Royal Gobball's Court?
Start with Black Gobball or Gobball War Chief, depending on which one threatens your positioning. The first draws attention and amplifies the damage taken, the second advances quickly with Gobball Rage.
How do you stop the Royal Gobball's healing?
Block its line of sight or move the target away by 6 cells. You can also finish off the monsters before the boss's turn, which avoids losing your earlier damage.
Which stone should you use to capture the boss?

Can Royal Gobball's Court be done with two characters?
Yes, if both your characters play at range and quickly eliminate the acolytes. Keep an obstacle or a summon to cut off the healing, then finish the fight before turn 19.
How long does the dungeon take?
Between 15 and 25 minutes for a level 30 group that knows the strategy.
Do you need a key for every run of Royal Gobball's Court?
No, with the key ring: the registered key recharges over time. The automatic group search also lets you enter without a key, and the quest Day Viss Cup gives you one.
How do you get the Bow Meow pet?
Talk to a Bow Meow Hargneux after the victory, with 5 Gobball Wool. You leave the dungeon immediately, so pick up your drops first.
