Defeat the Legendary Crackler

Dazing Stone

In melee, it removes 100 AP for one turn: the character hit will not play their next turn. It costs more than its base AP, but Heart of a Crackler gives some back: never end your turn stuck to the boss.

Very resistant to Fire, Water and Neutral, but weak to Air and Earth. It protects its allies with its three skins, summons a Crackler on turn 1 and then every 3 turns, and strikes in an area in melee, its allies included.

The four-step strategy against the Legendary Crackler

A variety of elements. Resistances change a lot from one Crackler to another: don't put everything into the same element. The boss fears Air and Earth, and takes more than half of Fire, Water and Neutral damage.

The monsters first. Start with the Crackrock, dangerous in melee, then the monsters that remove AP and MP or heal, like the Plain Crackler. Keep them away from the boss: Flint Skin gives 50% resistances to any monster within 2 Range of it.

Its summons. On turn 1 and then every 3 turns, Summoning of Mountain adds a Crackrock, a Crackler or a Plain Crackler. Kill them as they arrive, except for the Special achievement, which requires a completely different order.

The boss alone. Hit at a distance, with Air or Earth, and dispel its skins if you can. Never stay in melee with it: Legendary Crackler Punch and Dazing Stone are concentrated there. Only move closer to finish it off.

Its three skins

Flint Skin gives 50% resistances to the boss and to monsters within 2 Range of it, Granite Skin reduces damage taken around it, and Topaz Skin greatly reduces that of a targeted ally for 3 turns. Dispel them if your team can; otherwise, hit a target that doesn't benefit from them.

The monsters of Crackler's Rocky Peaks

Six level 59 to 62 Cracklers that remove AP, MP and Range, with very different resistances. Each has at least one clear weakness: vary your elements. The resistances in red are their weaknesses.

In which order to kill the monsters

  1. Crackrock — very dangerous in melee, it gains MP then AP with Telluric Motivation.
  2. Plain Crackler, then Crackler — they remove 2 AP in melee and up to 6 MP at a distance; the first heals its allies.
  3. Cracklope, then Elemearth — they reach you fast, through Percussion or teleportation, and hit hard in melee.

Preparing your run through Crackler's Rocky Peaks

A dungeon for teams of level 60 to 70 that vary their elements and can take the removals. People come for the alignment quests and Jumbo Mumbo's, the achievements, and the Legendary Crackler's soul for the Ochre Dofus, with a Soul Stone for Average Souls (captures up to level 100).

How to enter Crackler's Rocky Peaks

The entrance is in Crackler Mountain, at , near the Crackler Mountain zaap . Talk to Krunchie to enter, and again to leave. Three ways to open it: a Cracklers Rocky Peaks Key (consumed), the key ring if it is registered there, or the automatic group search.

Crafting the Cracklers Rocky Peaks Key

It is crafted by a handyman. Four ingredients drop from the dungeon's Cracklers, at about 43%: Cracklope Eye, Crackler Stone, Coal and Rancid Meat. The Polished Stone Fragment doesn't drop from any monster in the dungeon; Shiny Sardine (fishing), Wild Mint and Hop (harvesting) complete the recipe.

Which team to bring against the Legendary Crackler

Several elements. Cover at least Air, Earth and Fire: a single element will get you stuck on a Crackler or on the boss. Air and Earth work against the Legendary Crackler.

Dodge and dispelling. Stone Throwing, Stoning and Debilitating Crush can ruin a turn. AP and MP dodge, and dispelling against the boss's skins, make the fight much easier.

The five achievements of Crackler's Rocky Peaks

Each achievement gives 1,384,000 XP and 2 Legendary Crackler Rock; Duo doubles the XP. Killing the boss before it plays completes both First and Special.

Special: A Crackin' Good Fight

No enemy must take damage while an enemy summon is alive. The boss summons on turn 1 and then every 3 turns. While a summon lives, hit only it until it dies; with no summon, hit freely. Even simpler: focus the Legendary Crackler and kill it before it plays, and it will never summon.

First

The Legendary Crackler must be finished off first. Ignore the monsters, boost yourself and put all your damage into Air or Earth on the boss, dispelling its skins. Killing it before its first turn also completes the Special.

Cautious

No ally must end their turn on a cell adjacent to an enemy. Play everything at a distance and check your cell before ending. Beware of Percussion, which pulls the Cracklope closer, and of the Elemearth's teleport.

Duo

Two characters maximum, fewer than 20 turns. Take two self-sufficient characters, one of which hits at a distance or removes MP. Kill the Crackrock and the healers quickly, then finish the boss with Air or Earth.

Drops and loot of Crackler's Rocky Peaks

Base game rates, before Prospecting bonus. The boss always drops a Legendary Crackler's Gold Tooth, required by Free Tax.

Crackler's Rocky Peaks as a guild Expedition

The dungeon exists as a guild Expedition. Same names, completely different mechanics:

  • the boss and monsters wear Couche Rocailleuse: percentage and fixed resistances, and enormous AP and MP dodge. AP removal doesn't work on the boss;
  • at the end of its turn, each monster places a black glyph: stepping on it applies Crackrockification, a shield of 30% of HP but 100 MP lost and 100% more damage taken;
  • hitting in melee or pushing a crackrockified ally removes the state from it and removes Couche Rocailleuse from the monsters around it, 3 turns in melee, 2 turns in a square of size 3 for the push;
  • the boss gains 1 AP per turn for 5 turns, dispellable: at 20 AP, Dazing Stone hits the whole map, removes 6 AP and crackrockifies everyone, every turn. Dispel it relentlessly: Stain, Forbidden Word, Ghostly Shovel, Insolent Bramble;
  • without dispelling, kill it before its turn 4 while ignoring the monsters; otherwise, kill the monsters first, Crackrock in the lead, then erode the boss or remove its layer before hitting it;
  • never hit it with Neutral during the monster focus: each line of Neutral damage gives its allies 3,000 shield for 2 turns.
