Defeat the Great Coralator
Melee contact is deadly
Under Masterly Coralaction, the boss can cast Masterly Coral Attack, which kills its target in melee without fail, even an invulnerable character or a level 200 tank. Never end your turn next to it: at range, it is harmless.

Few resistances, a weakness to Air and Earth, but lots of HP for its level. It only hits at range with Masterly Coral Throwing, which removes Agility. Masterly Coralaction gives it the AP for its deadly spell, but removes its 3 MP: most of the time, it doesn't move.
Masterly CoralactionAP and power for 4 turns, but the boss loses its MP at the end of each turn. Cooldown: 5 turns: one turn in five, it moves without being able to kill.
Masterly Coral ThrowingIts only ranged attack, up to 5 Range: little damage, but -30 Agility for 2 turns.
Masterly Coral AttackKills the target in melee, whatever its HP. Can only be cast under Masterly Coralaction: never end your turn next to it.
The four-step strategy against the Great Coralator
Positioning. In preparation, place all your characters as far as possible from the Great Coralator. It is slow, hits little at range, and you have plenty of time to take care of the rest.
The Palmflowers first. Capoff removes 100% resistances from a character for 2 turns: they take twice as much damage. Kill the Palmflowers first, and dispel the target if you can (the Eniripsa's Word of Youth, the Pandawa's Bamboo Milk).
Craborals and Coralators. Next come the Craborals and the Coralator, in whatever order suits you. Exploit the weakness of each variant, and beware of Coral Protection, which strengthens the resistances of a whole area.
The boss at range. Once alone, the Great Coralator is killed at range, never going into its melee reach. It keeps its MP one turn in five, without being able to cast its deadly strike: even that turn, stay out of its reach.
Masterly Coralaction and its deadly strike
Masterly Coralaction gives the boss 12 AP and 400 power for 4 turns, but it loses its 3 MP at the end of each of its turns during that time. Recast every 5 turns, it leaves one turn where the boss moves without being able to cast Masterly Coral Attack, which costs 16 AP.
This strike deals a huge Air life steal in melee and finishes the target if it survives: it kills every time. The only exception, due to its AI: on turn 1, it doesn't use it on a character placed in melee with it under melee invulnerability. That is the key to the Stuck on You achievement.
The monsters of Grotto Hesque
Nine monsters of level 36 to 38, fragile, in four elemental variants for the Palmflowers and the Craborals: each has its own weakness. Resistances in red are their weaknesses.
In which order to kill the monsters
- Kurasso Palmflower, then Mahlibuh Palmflower, then Mojeeto Palmflower, then Passaoh Palmflower — their Capoff doubles the damage you take, and Island Flower heals their allies.
- Kurasso Craboral, then Mahlibuh Craboral, then Mojeeto Craboral, then Passaoh Craboral, then Coralator — the order doesn't matter: aim for each one's weakness.

Preparing your run through Grotto Hesque
A level 50 dungeon that is simple as long as you follow one rule: never touch the boss in melee. People come for Belina Thumb's and Otomai's quests, and for the Ochre Dofus soul, with a Soul Stone for Small Souls (captures up to level 50).
How to enter Grotto Hesque
The entrance is on the Coral Beach of Otomai Island, at ; the nearest zaap is the one in Canopy Village . Otomai Island opens up with The New World and Castaway Island. Three ways to open the dungeon: a Grotto Hesque Key (consumed), the key ring if it is registered there, or automatic group search.
Crafting the Grotto Hesque Key
It is crafted at a handyman's workshop. Five ingredients drop from the dungeon's monsters: the four Bulbs (Kurasso, Mahlibuh, Passaoh, Mojeeto) from the Palmflowers, and Tender Meat from all of them. Kittenfish (fishing), 5-leaf Clover and Oats (harvesting) complete the recipe.

Which team to bring against the Great Coralator
A team that plays at range. The boss is harmless at range and almost always stationary. Characters within range kill it without ever taking a risk, and also avoid the Craborals, which are dangerous in melee.
A dispel. Capoff can be dispelled. The Eniripsa's Word of Youth or the Pandawa's Bamboo Milk restore its resistances to a character who has just fallen victim to it.
Classes that are comfortable with it. All classes that hit at range, preferably in Air or Earth against the boss. The Eniripsa and the Pandawa remove the Capoff penalty, the Sram and the Pandawa easily break away from lock for the Impertinence achievement, and a Pandawa under melee invulnerability opens up Stuck on You.
The six achievements of Grotto Hesque
Each achievement gives 510,000 XP and 2 Great Sacrum, and Duo doubles the XP; Sidekick gives 765,000 XP. The dungeon is easy, but its achievements are less so: Blitzkrieg and Stuck on You require a few more levels.

| Grotto Hesque | Defeat the Great Coralator in this boss's dungeon. | 10 | 510 000 |
Impertinence
Each ally must end their turn next to an enemy. It's impossible to stick to the boss: keep a Coralator alive, position yourselves around it and hit the Great Coralator at range. With five or more, keep a second monster, never a Palmflower if possible. In preparation, take the cells closest to the Coralator, with mobile characters leaving room for the others. Kill the Palmflowers once everyone is stuck to the Coralator, then the boss, letting it advance if it is too far. The Sram's Invisibility or the Pandawa's stabilization help break away from lock in order to strike. Finish with the Coralator: with five or more, bring the two remaining monsters down so that a single character can finish them in the same turn.
Blitzkrieg
Every enemy attacked must die before its next turn. Hard at level 50: with four, the boss has 2,000 HP, about 500 damage per character in one turn; with eight, 2,900 HP. Come back a few levels later, preferably in Air and Earth. Wear down each monster just after its turn, in the order Palmflowers, Craborals, Coralator. Once the boss is alone, boost yourselves to the max, wait for it to play, then dump everything on it.
Special: Stuck on You
From turn 2, each ally must start their turn in melee with the Great Coralator, which must be finished last. Very hard at level 50, since the boss can kill a character per turn. The simplest way: come with four high-level characters and kill everything on turn 1, the boss last. Otherwise, a Pandawa with the first initiative sticks to the boss on turn 1 under melee invulnerability (the Feca's Barricade, the Pandawa's Prohibition); on turn 2, he places the whole team around him. Then kill the boss as fast as possible.
Duo
Two characters maximum, fewer than 20 turns. Fairly easy at level 50: the basic strategy is enough. The two Palmflowers, then the Coralator and the Craborals, staying away from the boss, then the Great Coralator at range.
Sidekick: Z'others
Four characters minimum, including a companion among Haku, Manitou Zoth, Karotz, Grouillot and Phong Huss. Two characters and two companions are enough, if one of the two is on the list; the other can be any companion.
