Beat the Rac Queen

The Cocoon and the Daddy Longlex

The Nephilady's Silk Prison turns a character into a Cocoon: no more AP or MP for 2 turns. The Daddy Longlex can then finish him off in one blow with Execution, up to 2 range without line of sight. Hit the Cocooned ally with a small spell: damage from an ally frees him.

The four-step strategy against the Rac Queen

The Nephilady first. The Queen is not the threat: focus the Nephilady, at range, because she pulls and then locks you in a Cocoon. If a character is caught in one, free him with a weak line of damage; otherwise, push the Daddy Longlex away from him and remove its MP.

Keep the Queen and the Venomica at a distance. In the meantime, keep them far away, removing MP: most of their spells are cast in a line. Don't hit the Queen while monsters are alive: each hit strengthens the Trentania in play.

The Venomica, then the Daddy Longlex. With the Nephilady dead, the Daddy Longlex is no longer a danger. Kill the Venomica, always at range: when hit in melee, she hurts everything around her. Hit the Eggs if you are low on HP, then finish off the Daddy Longlex.

The Queen alone. On her own, she doesn't do much anymore. Scatter your characters to limit her area strikes, and preferably hit her in Water.

The Trentania Eggs

On turn 1, then every two turns, the Queen lays an Egg with 800 HP, no resistance, immobile and unable to tackle. At the start of each turn, it steals a little life from all your characters and summons. Hitting it heals you for half the damage dealt: a free source of healing.

After 2 turns, the Egg hatches into a Trentania, which heals the Queen every turn. If you hit the Queen while a Trentania is alive, it becomes Devoted: +2 MP, power, no more healing, and it comes to explode on contact with a character. Anecdotal mechanic: don't waste your turns chasing these summons.

Webs and lines of fire

From turn 2, the Nephilady places Webs in contact with your characters. Their white glyph removes 100 MP and prevents any teleportation out of the area as long as the Web lives. Destroy the Web, which has only 400 HP, if the Nephilady is out of reach.

Venomica and Nephilady cast most of their spells in a line, Acid Secretion without line of sight. Position yourself opposite them, remove their MP and block them with summons, like the Sadida's Bloqueuse or the Pandawa's Pandawasta.

The monsters of the Lair of the Rac Queen

Five level 82 Arak-hais, very strong for their level. Venomica, Nephilady and Daddy Longlex are the most dangerous, and they are the ones who accompany the Queen in a small group. Resistances in red are their weaknesses.

In which order to kill the monsters

  1. Nephilady — she pulls, locks you in a Cocoon and immobilizes with her Webs.
  2. Venomica — her poisons and power removal reduce your damage; kill her at range.
  3. Daddy Longlex — without the Nephilady, he has no Cocoon left to execute.
  4. Gargantula, then Jumparak — depending on their position: one grows in melee, the other pushes back.

Preparing your run through the Lair of the Rac Queen

A dungeon for teams of level 80 to 90 that play at range, ideally in Water or Fire. You come here for the quests, the achievements and the Queen's soul for the Ochre Dofus, with a Soul Stone for Average Souls (captures up to level 100).

How to enter the Lair of the Rac Queen

The entrance is in the Arak-hai Forest, in Treechnid Forest, at ; the nearest zaap is the one at Crackler Mountain . Three ways to open it: a Key to the Lair of the Rac Queen (consumed), the key ring if it is registered there, or the automatic group finder. Grand Tour gives you a key.

Crafting the Key to the Lair of the Rac Queen

It is crafted by a handyman. Five ingredients drop in the dungeon, at nearly 40%: Venomica Wool, Gargantula Teeth, Nephilady Silk, Jumparak Eye and Stale Meat. Kralove (fishing), Freyesque Orchid and Flax (harvesting) complete the recipe.

Which team to bring against the Rac Queen

Water and Fire. The Queen resists Air and Earth and stays weak to Water; the Nephilady and the Venomica, the two most dangerous monsters, are weak to Fire. Air and Earth characters will have to push harder.

MP removal and blockers. Venomica and Nephilady must find a line to hit you. Remove their MP and block their approach with summons, without leaving them in contact with a Web.

A small spell for the Cocoons. Each character must be able to hit an ally in a Cocoon with a weak spell to free them. That is what stops the Daddy Longlex from executing them.

Classes that feel at ease. The Sadida blocks with his Bloqueuse, the Pandawa with his Pandawasta, and any Water or Fire character who hits at range is comfortable. Melee classes must avoid contact with the Venomica.

The six achievements of the Lair of the Rac Queen

Each achievement gives 2,853,000 XP and 2 Slimy Silk, Duo doubles the XP; Sidekick gives 4,279,500 XP. Special is played with the basic strategy, keeping some damage for the Eggs.

Special: Rac Off

When the Rac Queen summons a Trentania Egg, it must be finished off before the start of its next turn. She lays eggs on odd turns: every two turns, 800 of your damage must go into an Egg, with no resistance, before the next turn. The rest of the strategy doesn't change. If your damage isn't enough, come back with a few more levels.

First

The Rac Queen must be finished off first. You can't save the Queen for last: control the Nephilady and keep the Daddy Longlex away from your characters, then concentrate Water damage on the Queen. Hitting the Queen makes the Trentania in play Devoted: kill the Eggs before they hatch so you don't suffer them.

Impertinence

Allied fighters must end their turn on a cell adjacent to an enemy's. Contact is precisely what this dungeon punishes. Never end up in contact with a Nephilady, which locks you in a Cocoon, and don't hit the Venomica in melee. Kill the dangerous monsters in contact first, and always keep something to free a Cocoon.

Duo

Two characters maximum, fewer than 20 turns. Bring two Water or Fire characters, with MP removal. With two, a Cocoon immobilizes half the team: each must be able to free the other. Don't lose a single turn on the Trentania and use the Eggs to heal.

Sidekick: Tormented Knights

At least four characters, including an eligible companion: Flame, Drop, Cloud, Paper or Darkness. The fight plays out as usual: keep the companion away from the Nephilady and the Daddy Longlex, so he doesn't end up in an executed Cocoon.
