What to prepare

Nothing to gather to look for Dremoan in his area. Bring instead characters that hit with Fire, his only element without resistance. For the legendary treasure hunt alternative, you need all five fragments of Dremoan's Map.

Quest Resources, obtained along the way

  • Map fragment of Dremoan 1/5 icon1 × Dremoan's Map fragment 1/5alternative only: random drop from treasure hunt chests, by trade or at the auction house, like the other four fragments

The 6 quest steps

  1. 1Take the wanted notice

    Dialogue

Go to the Snowbound Village militia, buried under the snow: four signs display the notices for the nearby wanted targets. Click the highlighted sign, right behind Baka Laive.

    Dialogue

    1. “Head out questing for Dremoan”

  2. 2Find Dremoan

    Movement

Dremoan always appears in the Petrified Forest area, on Frigost. If a group defeats him without anyone getting him as a follower character (no one started the quest, or everyone has already completed it), he reappears immediately in the area.

Dremoan is not always there: once defeated, he disappears from the area for several hours before reappearing.

  3. 3Alternative: the legendary hunt

    Dialogue

If you can't find him, you can capture him for sure with a legendary treasure hunt. At the Treasure Chest, assemble Dremoan's Map at the Desk with the 5 fragments, then start the hunt at the Drafting Table. It works like a classic treasure hunt, with a fight against Dremoan at the end.

    Dialogue

    1. “Dremoan's Treasure”
    2. “Begin”

In this fight, Dremoan is alone, so no Vitality or Power penalty. All characters in the fight who have the quest get the wanted target as a follower; only the one who started the hunt receives a chest, with hunt rewards and 1 Dremoan Sporm, a unique resource used in crafting.

  4. 4Make Dremoan vulnerable

    Combat

Dremoan is invulnerable from the start of the fight. He loses this state for the rest of the fight as soon as he turns a Zombie into a Dremoan Sprout. If he has monsters with him, kill one: he resurrects it as a Zombie, then immediately kills it to make a Sprout. If he is alone, cast a summon: he turns it into a Zombie, then into a Sprout.

He cannot turn anything into a Zombie before his turn 3: it is impossible to make him vulnerable earlier. One Sprout is enough: don't kill other monsters and don't cast other summons, otherwise the Sprouts multiply.

  5. 5Defeat Dremoan

    Combat

Kill Dremoan first, or second if you killed a monster to make him vulnerable. Each monster accompanying him weakens him: the Ad Hoc Allies state removes 1,500 Vitality and 50 Power per monster present with him. If you started the quest, you get him as a follower character after the victory.

When he dies, Dremoan kills all characters within a radius of 3 around him, and each Sprout that dies with him kills those within a radius of 2: move away before finishing him off.

  6. 6Deliver Dremoan

    Items

The wanted target is delivered to one of two people depending on the time. Talk to the one who is present: you lose your follower and the quest ends. Each delivered wanted target is buried deep in the snow: you won't see him behind bars.

    • between 8h and 20h, deliver him to Long John
    • between 20h and 8h, deliver him to Baka Laive

    Dialogue

    1. “Deliver Dremoan”

The quest always indicates Long John at . But between 20h and 8h, he is away, at the S.L.I.P. meeting from the quest Hot P.A.N.T.S.: deliver Dremoan to Baka Laive instead.

The fights

Dremoan

Dremoan

Level 180

In the Petrified Forest: 24,000 HP, 13 AP and 5 MP, 0% Fire resistance and heavy resistance in the other elements. He poisons you with Earth life steal throughout the fight, dispels himself every turn (a Pandawa's vulnerability lasts only for the current turn), removes MP, Lock and Flight, and heals himself. On turn 3 and then every 5 turns, he removes 100 MP and applies the Gravity state to all your characters: you don't move on turns 3, 8, 13, etc.

  • Ad Hoc Allies

State shared by all wanted targets: 1,500 less Vitality and 50 less Power, with no duration limit, for each monster with him. Alone, he has no penalty.

  • Abomination

Cast from the start of the fight: Invulnerable state (infinite). He removes all his own effects at the end of each turn. On turns 6, 11 and 16, he heals 3,600 HP and gains 100 Damage (infinite). Applies a poison of 26 to 50 (Earth steal) to all your characters for the whole fight. The charge of 1,000 Vitality and 200 Damage still displayed no longer exists.

  • Abominable Tragedy

When he dies, kills all characters within a radius of 3 around him.

  • Putrid Zombification

Resurrects the last dead monster in the Zombie state (infinite) and heals 200 HP. Up to 15 range without line of sight, 2-turn cooldown.

  • Dremoan Seed

Kills a summon or a monster in the Zombie state and replaces it with a Dremoan Sprout (1 MP, Invulnerable, Heavy and Rooted). As soon as he can cast this spell, he loses his Invulnerable state (infinite). Infinite range, 1 times per turn.

  • Accelerated Decay

On all your characters: removes 100 MP for 1 turn, poison of 90 Neutral in 1 turn (about 500 to everyone on the following turn), Gravity state for 1 turn and Corrupted state for 4 turns. All summons switch to the Zombie state for 3 turns. From turn 3, then every 5 turns.

  • Assassin Roots

Whack dealing 550 Fire life steal and gives himself 251 to 500 HP restored for 3 turns (dispellable). Up to 15 range, 1 times per turn.

  • Clawed Hands

Whack dealing 550 Water life steal in a line of size 4, removes 2 to 3 MP for 1 turn, Corrupted state for 2 turns. Melee only, 1 times per turn.

  • Decaying Root

Poison of 71 to 90 Earth for 2 turns, removes 3 to 4 MP and 50 Lock and Flight for 2 turns, Corrupted state for 2 turns. Up to 15 range, 1 times per turn.

  • Tip: no summons if he has monsters

He would end up turning them into Zombies and making Sprouts of them. If you summon anyway, a single summon is enough to make him vulnerable.

  • Tip: favor Fire

Dremoan has 0% Fire resistance: characters that hit with Fire kill him faster.

Dremoan Sprout

Dremoan Sprout

Levels 1 to 5

Dremoan's summon: 1 MP, invulnerable, Heavy and Rooted. It pulls in line at long range, removes MP, gives AP to the monsters and MP to Dremoan, applies healing and damage penalties in melee, removes range at a distance, and hits in Fire, Earth and Neutral with poisons. After 4 turns, it can explode if it has a target within a radius of 6: it dispels, hits hard in Neutral from 3 to 6 cells and kills characters 2 cells away or less. It can also heal the monsters for 2,500 HP and Dremoan for 10,000 HP.

  • Slurry

Cast as soon as it is summoned: Invulnerable, Heavy and Rooted (infinite). When Dremoan dies, all the Sprouts die and kill the characters within a radius of 2 around them.

  • Spiritual Trap

Penalty of 100 Damage and 50 Heals for 3 turns, stackable. Melee only, 1 times per target.

  • Burning Poison

Each AP used makes you lose 2 Fire HP, for 4 turns (non-stackable), and applies the Infected state for 4 turns. Up to 8 range, 2-turn cooldown.

  • Rampant Corruption

Removes 2 to 4 dodgeable MP from all characters in line from 1 to 10 range around him and pulls them into contact. Cooldown: 2 turns.

  • Growing Putrefaction

Whack dealing 350 Earth damage, poison of 16 to 30 Earth for 2 turns and removes 3 range (4 on a critical hit) for 2 turns. Up to 10 range, 1 times per target.
