Ebony Dofus
The Ebony Dofus, level 180, gives 40 Flight and extra damage when you alternate melee and ranged attacks. It rewards the Ebony Black achievement: 10 quests, from the sword Crocobur planted in the Meriana marshes to the Black Dragon. All the quests, prerequisites, resources and tips.
The Ebony Dofus
The Ebony Dofus was created by Grougalorasalar, the Black Dragon, to keep him company. The game has fun with this: he had forgotten that an egg, however magical, doesn't talk. To wrest it from him, you'll have to return his son Crocoburio, whose soul rests in the sword Crocobur.
Available from level 180, it is a Dofus for characters who alternate melee and ranged: each type of attack strengthens the other, and Flight helps you break away from contact.
The effects and the passive

Passive · Ebony Black
When the bearer attacks in melee during their turn, they gain 2% ranged damage, and if they attack at range, they gain 2% melee damage for 3 turns (stackable 5 times).
Triggering all 2 effects in the turn lets the next attack apply a poison of 16 in its element for 2 turns (stackable 2 times).
The poison's cooldown is 2 turns, but can be reset if the target is finished off.
40 Flight at all times, to break away from enemy contact more easily.
When you attack in melee during your turn, you gain 2% ranged damage for 3 turns; when you attack at range, 2% melee damage for 3 turns. Each bonus stacks up to 5 times, for 10% at most.
Triggering both effects in the same turn poisons your next attack: a poison of 16 in its element for 2 turns, stackable 2 times. This poison has a 2-turn cooldown, reset if you finish off the target.
How to get the Ebony Dofus
The Ebony Dofus is earned by completing the Ebony Black achievement, which groups 10 quests. Eight start from Meriana, in the Nauseating Swamps at , and the series ends against the Black Dragon, in the Scale Archipelago.
Before the first quest, you must be level 100 and have finished The Sorceress from the Swamps. To avoid getting stuck along the way, also finish Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover, Burin's Dane, Anger of the Gods, Tap, Friend, and Enter followed by Brikkr-a-Brokkr, and Pendulum Swinger's Guide for access to the Evil Forest. Finally, you must have access to Frigost III, so you must have defeated the Celestial Bearbarian at least once.

1Sword from the Stone
Level 120 · Meriana, Nauseating Swamps
To find Crocoburio, you must first free the sword Crocobur from its rock: Oubn-Ghazou's powder reveals the seal, then Fraktal, three Glass Cracklers and the Guardian of the Sword clear the way.
You must have finished Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover. For Fraktal, go through the Xelorium portal map: a teleportation Ankre won't work.

2Legendary Smith
Level 120 · Meriana, Nauseating Swamps
Volkaragnar, who forged Crocobur, agrees to restore its power: beat the Volcanic Forge Fire solo, have an imperial jade set, then water the sword with Crocabulia's blood, in its lair.
You must have progressed Burin's Dane until you meet Volkaragnar. Don't leave Crocabulia's dungeon before you have let its blood run onto the blade.

3To Dream's End
Level 130 · Volkaragnar, Volcano Forge
The sword must regain its legend in the Infinite Dreams: come across Crocobur's dream twelve times, which appears at random depending on your level and your tier.
From the seventh dream onward, you must play on Dream III difficulty or higher.

4In Search of Crocoburio
Level 200 · Meriana, foul-smelling swamps
Thanks to Sramsara's scroll, obtained in exchange for the soul of Bethel Akarna, follow the reincarnation of Crocoburio from Bonta to Frigost, all the way to little Leane, hidden among the brigandins.
You must have finished Anger of the Gods, and take the Necronyx spell before entering Bethel's Tower.

5Meriana's Crucible
Level 200 · Meriana, foul-smelling swamps
To separate the souls of Crocoburio and Leane, Meriana needs many components: the remains of three Ancient Chafers, the oil of the Koutoulou Larva, the Abyssal Alloy and seven perennial branches, among others, to be placed in the crucible in a precise order.
You must be a level 80 farmer and a level 20 miner. A mistake in the order in the crucible gets you attacked, and everything has to be redone.

6A Painful Separation
Level 200 · Meriana, foul-smelling swamps
In the Black Dragon's cave of tears, purify the rooms, foil the ambush of the fake militiamen with Joris Jurgen, then beat Crocoburio's soul solo with the sword Crocobur.
A Climbing Rope is needed for each descent. In the last fight, always pick the sword back up after planting it.

7The Black Dragon
Level 200 · Meriana, Koalak Mountain
To reach the Black Dragon's island, you need the Nimbos' help: beat Dazahk Freezammer and Klime in their dungeons, feed Readrune the Blind, then cross the jungle and the city of Tikoltenak to Grougalorasalar.
You must have finished Brikkr-a-Brokkr. Keep 1 Bloodthirsty Larvae, from the Giant Moskitos, to enter the temple.

8The Last Emperor's Revenge
Level 200 · Grougalorasalar, Tikoltenak cave
The ghost of Emperor Crocahualpa wants revenge on the spirit that possessed him: follow his trail to Brakmar and Gisgoul, beat the shushus solo, then the demon Bulak.
Plan for 20,500 kamas: 500 for the Paztek-Twelvian Dictionary, 20,000 for Boud Chair. Bulak is invulnerable at range.

9Crocabulia's Egg
Level 200 · Meriana, Nauseating Swamps
Crocabulia's Egg, stolen from the Amakna bank, ended up with the Smisses of Srambad: reconcile Blak and Sissipie, then bring them the Queen of Thieves' casket.
You must be level 190. The Rogues attack you in exchange for the casket: the fight can be done with several players.

10New Heir
Level 200 · Meriana, foul-smelling swamps
Feed Crocobur with Charred Ones' souls and that of Solar, free Crocoburio at the Osamodas Vestiges, then escort him to his father. A solo tactical fight finally decides the Ebony Dofus.
Charred One Souls drop from the monsters of the Magmatic Steps, not in the dungeon.

Tips
Level up to farmer 80 and miner 20 before quest 5
Meriana's Crucible requires you to harvest Brins des possibles as a level 80 farmer and craft the Abyssal Alloy as a level 20 miner.
Have someone buy the Barbeerds for you
Without The Beard at the End of the Krosmoz, you can't buy the 5 Barbeerds at the Nimbos tavern: ask a friend to buy them for you, or go through the auction house.
Take advantage of other people's dreams in the Infinite Dreams
Crocobur's dream appears at random in the next room, not at the end of every fight. It can also appear in another player's dream: you don't need to be its owner.
Remember the Necronyx spell
You must have it before entering Bethel's Tower, at quest 4, and Solar's Tower, at quest 10. If it has expired, renew it in the Gods' Domain, at the class statue of your temple.
The Ebony Black achievement
Complete the Ebony Dofus quest series. It gives 50 achievement points and 100,000,000 experience points, in addition to the Ebony Dofus. View the achievement page.

By completing the Ebony Black achievement, i.e. 10 quests, from Sword from the Stone to New Heir. The Dofus is taken from its pedestal at the end of the last one.

At level 100, once The Sorceress from the Swamps is completed. The quests range from level 120 to level 200, from level 190 starting with the fourth, and the Dofus can be equipped at level 180.
