The five-step strategy against Queen Amirukam

Turn 1: the first threshold. Hit the Queen as much as possible from the first turn: the 75% threshold is passed on turn 1. King Imagami is summoned by the character closest to her: make sure it is your first character in initiative.

Play King Imagami. With 20 AP, he casts Wukang Inhalation four times per turn (one more per character beyond four), without line of sight. Place him near the monsters to hit them all, give him MP, then bring him back to safety. Alternate Wukang Surge and Wukang Stability, and heal him: he has to last the 5 turns.

The waves. Kill order: Fugokam, Tsunam, Shinlam, Mabram, Rokoram. Keep the monsters at a distance while the King hits them. One hit from the King is often enough to kill the paper counterpart of a monster that has turned into a Lotus; otherwise, push it into the Queen's black glyph.

When she comes out of the Lotus. She comes back with 100% of her HP. Kill the King yourself with Wukang Extinction, ideally with the first character in initiative: your other characters hit the Queen before she plays again. With no threshold, lock her, with your back to an obstacle so she doesn't push you away.

The last threshold, then the end. The third threshold often takes two turns of focus. After the last Lotus, no more King: finish the remaining monsters from a distance, then the Queen, by locking her or avoiding her lines and diagonals. Dispel her poisons, which stack.

The monsters' Lotus

Each monster turns into a Lotus at 10% of its HP, not counting the dungeon's vitality bonus: invulnerable and rooted, it skips its turn for 4 turns and heals 25% then 50% of its HP on turns 2 and 3. It summons its paper counterpart above itself: Imafugo for the Fugokam, Imiyama for the Mabram, Imorok for the Rokoram, Imushin for the Shinlam, Imetsu for the Tsunam.

Kill the counterpart before its summoner's fourth turn: otherwise, the monster kills it itself, comes out of the Lotus, and you have to bring it back down to 10%. The counterparts have 25% less HP and are no longer invulnerable, but they escape Sram traps and bomb walls placed on their arrival cell.

Rooted, a Lotus doesn't lock, can't be pushed, can't be pulled, and doesn't switch places. A Pandawa can, however, carry it, the Queen included.

The Queen's black glyph

At each threshold, she places a black glyph around herself: any paper monster inside dies when she comes out of the Lotus, marked by a skull. The glyph shrinks at each threshold: star of size 3, then 2, then square of size 1.

If a Pandawa has moved it out of its glyph by then, the monsters inside survive. During its 5 Lotus turns, it fully heals itself; Unhealable applied to it for several turns in a row makes it come back weakened.

The three waves

With four characters, the fight starts with the Queen and three monsters; each additional character adds one monster per wave. The second wave arrives on turn 5, the third on turn 10, or immediately if you clear the current wave. Each wave is invulnerable on the turn it arrives, and all the monsters have a big vitality bonus.

With four: Queen, Fugokam, Rokoram, and Tsunam; then Fugokam, two Mabram, and Rokoram; finally Tsunam, two Shinlam, and Mabram. Ideally, dedicate each King Imagami to one wave.

The monsters of Imagiro's Memory

Five level 200 Ink Yokianzhis, whose passive bonuses grow every turn, or as their HP drops. All of them turn into a Lotus at 10% HP. The resistances in red are their weaknesses.

In which order to kill the monsters

  1. Fugokam — it hits hard from long range, and even harder as its HP drops.
  2. Tsunam — it gains MP every turn, switches places, and pushes back.
  3. Shinlam — its damage rises every turn and it erodes: kill it fast or keep it away.
  4. Mabram, then Rokoram — not very dangerous: heals, trees, and shields, to finish last.

Preparing your run through Imagiro's Memory

A level 190 to 200 dungeon, greatly simplified since version 2.71: a team of four that hits well from a distance can beat it. People come for Two Breaths, One Inhalation, the dragon haikus, the Totem of Sadness, and the achievements: Queen Amirukam cannot be captured.

How to enter Imagiro's Memory

The dungeon is at , in the dimension of Wukin and Wukang. You get in through one of the temples of the Wukin and the Wukang, on Pandala Island, by talking to Daoh. You need a Key to Imagiro's Memory (consumed) or the automatic group search: the key ring doesn't work in a dimension, nor does teleporting the group in front of the dungeon.

Crafting the Key to Imagiro's Memory

It is crafted at a handyman. The four signs drop from the dungeon's monsters, at 12%: Shinlam Semi-Clouton, Rokoram Circumflex Carapace, Mabram Quote Marks, and Tsunam Ellipsis. Liquid Crystal, Ink Snapper, Paper Tulip, and Quisnoa complete the recipe.

Which team to bring against Queen Amirukam

Ranged damage. The monsters have a big vitality bonus and the Queen has to get through her thresholds fast. Classes that hit hard from a distance do all the work; MP removal helps without being mandatory.

Healing and protection. The damage taken is heavy, especially with the Queen's stacked poisons. An Eniripsa or a Feca heals and protects, and the Water-mode Feca also pushes the monsters back to buy time.

A positioning class. The Pandawa carries the Lotuses, places the paper monsters in the black glyph, and can tank while the others hit. An Eliotrope simplifies the fight even more: King Imagami hits through its portals.

The classes that are comfortable here. The Pandawa for positioning and tanking, the Rogue for getting past the thresholds quickly and finishing off the counterparts with the bomb wall once they have played, the Eniripsa and the Feca for healing and protection. The Eliotrope is a bonus: the King hits through its portals.

The six achievements of Imagiro's Memory

Each achievement gives 200,000,000 XP and 2 Queen Amirukam Diacritic, and Trio doubles the XP; Sidekick gives 75,000,000 XP. Cautious, Clean Hands, and Trio are done with the basic strategy, and Paper Regency is completed with Wukang Extinction.

Cautious

No ally may end their turn next to an enemy. No particular difficulty with the basic strategy. Don't end your turn next to a monster in Lotus, even if it doesn't play, nor next to the Mabram's and Imiyama's trees.

Clean Hands

Finish off the enemies without direct damage: traps, glyphs, poisons, pushes, reflected damage, and summons are allowed. Fairly simple: King Imagami is a summon, and the Queen's black glyph kills the paper monsters. Once her thresholds are passed, finish the Queen with an indirect attack or a summon, and don't kill the Mabram's and Imiyama's trees directly.

Special: Paper Regency

King Imagami must be finished off by an ally before the Queen comes out of her Lotus phase. Turned into a Lotus on turn 1, she comes back at the start of turn 6: the King must die before then. Wukang Extinction, his own spell, completes the achievement; on the other hand, a King killed by the monsters makes it fail. To be redone at each of the three thresholds.

Trio

Three characters maximum, fewer than 80 turns. Very simple since version 2.71: any ranged team manages it with the basic strategy. With one fewer character, each wave also has one fewer monster.

Sidekick: The Pandalans

Four characters, including a companion among Mirh, Stroy Zemol, Tracon, or Logram. The fight plays out as usual: keep the companion alive, and don't let them end up isolated in an area of the Fugokam or the Queen.

Drops and loot of Imagiro's Memory
